Food safety with the blackouts
It just occurred to me that a lot of people I know have been having stomach issues, and that restaurants have been going 6 hours without power a day. Related? I mean, any frozen or refrigerated products must be having issues. Is it safe to be eating out?
Scobienz 3.0
No. All Expat 2.0s should stay at home and die of starvation. This will also reduce the electricity & water required, and Expat 1.0s surviving on hazardous radioactive, arsenic infused, durian flavored local fare for the last 20 years will have to get back to work making more halfpat 1.1s.

I was more of Dallas type, that other one was a bit too “shoulder pads” & epic staring into some evil distance. Joan Collins was hot though, not a bad way to go.
(Serious answer is I think it’s still safe out there at proper establishments with generators or food that doesn’t necessarily need refrigeration)

Yes, there is an abundance of expats 2.0 judging by all the panicked posts on social media. Power outages used to be the norm in Cambodia, not the exception as now. And most people managed to survive though I do understand that not being able to access Facebook for 5 hours can be hard for some.....

Jesus, you guys are sure doing your best so this forum never gains new members, good job. It's not like a society ever got used to a few years of consistently cleanish water and electricity and changed their food handling procedures from the traditional way. I'm no fan of hipsters or the old fat guys that waddle from bar to bar, but the way some of you talk, it sounds like a few expat 2.0 types have stolen some of your thunder away from the local ladies. All that aside, I do agree that most places that serve food is no less safe than it was a month ago.

Why would I be offended, I am neither an expat 2.0 nor a hipster. I simply don't understand the amount of hate for the newer expats when ALOT (not all) of the older one were fucking pedo's, fake special ops and overweight truck drivers, who as the governor of SNV said "all they brought were hippies, drugs and prostitution". It seems to me that quite a few of the older expats seem to think they are hardcore compared to the newer ones, simply by not being dead yet, which has been covered ad nauseam on this site over the years. It's not offensive, just ridiculous.Perthguy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2019 9:31 pmDont get offended.Cricket99 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2019 8:27 pmJesus, you guys are sure doing your best so this forum never gains new members, good job. Cricket,
Cambodia has changed dramatically in the last 15 years. Also the type of expat has changed dramatically. Generally speaking Expat 1.0 for lack of a better term was a much heartier group. 2.0's have a much larger wanker factor. 1.0's tended to be a more independent and unique group.
As far as the food issues go just plan on getting sick. It will pass quickly.
