I am still trying to sell my Aprilia. It's for sale in the Buy and Sell section of the forum.

My father passed away on New Year's eve. It wasn't expected, but he had been sick on and off. Mostly heart related. I was here. I had never had someone that close die, so it is painful in many, and constantly changing ways.
And my mother and father have donated their bodies to the medical school. The medical school picks up the body, and you never see or hear about it again. They say they cremate the bodies and scatter the ashes at sea, but I imagine its probably Bergan-Belsen style; his ashes mixed with other people's parents. It's horrible.
My sister took it pretty hard. To make matters worse, she had to have an emergency operation to remove 18 inches of lower intestine.
So, my mother starts freaking out about all this. And it leaves me wondering if living overseas means that my family will just disappear when I am not there. I don't know how this would affect me.
I don't want to lose two parents, nor leave my mother alone when she needs support.
I don't know.
How do you guys deal with or prepare for such life events?
Parents passing away and selling my motorcycle
You can't really prepare for these events.
Recently both my parents passed away; mum at home and dad in a rest home care. 3 of my siblings live overseas but only one came home to see our parents and she and I nursed mum 24/7 and looked after dad.
Not everyone is able to or even wants to deal with their parents passing, but I'm glad I was there and in doing so I've learned a lot about myself.
It's also the last opportunity to resolve stuff with your folks, if the need be.

I don't know if any of this will help you OP but here goes. The first, and hardest step, is realizing everyone will go someday. The second step is figuring out how we will each feel about that. To me, and some others, the body is just a vessel the soul occupies for a while, then moves on. Different religions all have ideas where you go afterward but the basic idea is the same. I have signed up for body donation wherever I have lived in the world because when my soul is gone I really don't care where the rest goes. I really want no viewing/funeral etc. If someone would like to throw a good old wake that would be fine to cheer my spirit on. I would also rather leave any money I have to friends and relatives and not funeral parlors. Maybe your parents feel/felt the same way. I am sure the last thing they would want is for you to be saddened by the decision they made for themselves.

Bodies donated are not really cremated until after all the organs are removed, students practice operations and the body is cut into pieces, cremated and its than trash".And my mother and father have donated their bodies to the medical school. The medical school picks up the body,

Will you take $700 for it?

Your Khmer friends will understand you thinking you need to go home. Mine did. My mother got dementia, and relying on well meaning friends and relatives only goes so far. Before it became really bad, she would visit me in Asia. But it became obvious on her visits that she was losing it. (Forgetting to pay in shops etc.,)
Your rock-like, always there, indestructible, mum is starting to get old, and you need to step up. All your siblings need to also.
You need to sit down with everyone and talk this through. What are her options. Move? You move back? Sister takes on bigger role? whatever. BUT YOU NEED TO TALK AND PLAN!!!!
BTW, there is no easy solution, and I know many expats, besides me, who had to come home because of elderly parents, and their care needs.

Exactly. This is called the 'end of life care plan', and is important.
I baulked at the idea of dealing with it all thinking I didn't have the mettle required. 3 out of 5 siblings couldn't handle it at all but with my sisters help, I did and I feel a more complete person for it..
