The 2-5769 police plated car crossed the road, crashing into two motorbikes.
while the car continued to drive on, ploughing into a traffic sign and finally coming to a stop after hitting an electricity pole..
Both men on the bikes were injured and were immediately taken away in ambulances.
The driver opened the car door, and escaped from the scene.
After the incident, the car was taken to Phnom Penh Road Traffic Police Station (the driver’s workplace), waiting for legal action.

I'm developing a serious mistrust of Highlanders, a sort of sedan pretending to be an off roader, thinking to be invincible to the average bystander.
If you gonna do it, do it right.
They certainly a breed to themselves like you mention. There's a good thread somewhere by Petrolhead I think on the the types of cars in Cambodia & their place on the hierarchy.newnewnewbie wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 1:10 pmI'm developing a serious mistrust of Highlanders, a sort of sedan pretending to be an off roader, thinking to be invincible to the average bystander.
My casual observation having now good experience both from behind a wheel and also handlebars would add two others:
1. Toyota Corrolla - driven by a complete idiot who barely understands the controls of the vehicle. Usually found drifting into the "bike" lane at 5mph and holding up whatever cyclos are left.
2. Toyota Camry - still the fastest car, bar none, in the country. Just wait until that new highway is open and beautiful tarmac laid down; the boys with their Bugattis, Lamborghinis & Ferraris will be powering down the straight bits at a heck of a rate of knots, only to be overtaken by a white Camry, driven by a taxi driver with the steering wheel on the wrong side, a passenger sharing his seat, and talking on his mobile to his next customer. You will never be faster than this guy. Ever.

Looks to me, he tried to knock the windscreen out with his head.

Years ago I had a Honda VFR400R, and I was driving down a nice straight stretch of road between PP and Kampong Cham, doing about 100 kph, and a family passed me on a Honda Dream, I think it was, two small kids and some ducks, like I was standing stillSpigzy wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 4:13 pm2. Need mention for Prius, RX 300 and LX570.Spigzy wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 4:13 pmThey certainly a breed to themselves like you mention. Can't do those sorry, the levels of driver varies too much to call stereotypes - there are crazy RX300 drivers, and some very ordinary RX300 drivers, same for Prius and LX570s to my observation. I'll try to think of some others where there are "nailed on" stereotypes; only the Camry & Corolla sprung to mind so far.
It's a bit like the women riding Honda Cubs wearing those beige silky gloves - they ride like they've never, ever been in traffic; I think they might even be lizard people in disguise such is the weirdness of their riding style. Whenever I'm behind one, I have to overtake as soon as possible - I just know she's going to be involved in accident, or cause an accident ... and probably ride on blissfully unaware that she caused an accident, leaving the chaos in the background like a Naked Gun scene.

Either your experience predates 2010 or this is a big bs load..Spigzy wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 4:13 pmThey certainly a breed to themselves like you mention. Not so much that I know of a few pretty darn good Corolla drivers but rather that whenever I am doing somewhat reasonable day time driving pace, which is already arguably way too fast, the only cars that dare give any helpless try at following would rather be a Range Rover sport for the powerful type or any kind of pick up truck for the lesser.
There are definitely quite a few cars driving around that no Camry can do anything to overtake.

BMW drivers are assholes anywhere in the world - not necessarily their driving style, just their personalities. They’ll probably have a Rolex on as well, and their favorite attire is Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, and other completely styleless and unimaginative brands.
Scobienz 3.0
Don't get me wrong bds, the fastest car in the country is the Bugatti Chiron - but there's a difference between a fast car, and a guy that wants to drive fast without any fear of death on his own part, that of his passengers, or any innocent bystanders. My money is still on the white Camry, "chlam" model to be specific.Barang_doa_slae wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 6:13 pmEither your experience predates 2010 or this is a big bs load..Spigzy wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 4:13 pmThey certainly a breed to themselves like you mention. Admittedly after recent events, you could be right that Khun Mey freshly out of "prison" behind the wheels of a brand new Autobiography Range Rover with all the trimmings probably could give that guy a good run for his money!

True, the bimmer 325I I had back in the 90's when they were designed to my personal taste, was truly 'the ultimate driving machine' leaving most other vehicles in the dust, on any curvy mountain road. So of course I was the a-hole in that regard. I even 'had' a few Porsches sporting lousy drivers, in those days, that's how good that car was to operate. Really sorry about that.Wayward Woods wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 6:50 pmBMW drivers are assholes anywhere in the world - not necessarily their driving style, just their personalities.
