Or you could just ban him, but that would make you a socialist. Yes?
Hey, still having problems with the rents around Russian Market?

What's to say he's not going to provide a decent standard of accommodation at a fair price?

The true test of where you stand with Scobienz is whether or not he would refer to you with the vaunted phrase: 'Prominent 440er'

Look at the figures. Do you think that's what you'd estimate for a 'decent standard of accommodation', or the lowest possible cost to maximise profits?Starving Pelican wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 7:43 pmWhat's to say he's not going to provide a decent standard of accommodation at a fair price?

Indeed .iirc andyinasia used to live in De Kastle in Toul Kork, and he had problems in that place with maintenance/managementv12 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 2:21 amThe biggest problem is the people living in these studios. To keep the studios nice and proper, it needs renters taking care of that. Since that usually fails in Cambodia, these studios degrade within 5 years, as well as the communal areas in the building.
Landlords do know who is going to live in there and anticipate on the excessive wear & tear, as such, they use el-cheapo equipment, doors, etc, which all breaks down very easily.

Generally, yes. I was talking about the human factor, being accountable for the standard of living.

"Very basic" does not mean "inhumane". We've all stayed in "Very basic" hotel rooms for $10/night as we didn't want to spend an extra $40 for a bigger room and a hair dryer. Many people elect to buy "basic" Fords and Hyundais instead of expensive BMWs. I doubt factory workers would like to shell out additional money for fancier dormitories. They want something cheap, so they can save money.vladimir wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 4:58 amLook at the figures. Jitters used the word slum. I tend to favor that view.
You're a lawyer, right?
What does this language - which he used himself - say to you?
10 very basic rooms in a block + the land= around $20k
I interpret that as the absolute minimum, I find it very hard to see how anybody could interpret it as 'a decent standard'. Bias notwithstanding.
