Dangers of walking into a Cambodian Jungle?
I'm interested in getting the jungle experience, but I'm uncertain of the dangers. I was told that there are boars that kill humans. The viper threat is also an issue but most scurry away from noise. How Dangerous is the Cambodian Jungle? I would of course use a ton of deet to prevent Dengue or Japanese encephalitis. Thoughts?

Don't worry about the wildlife, there isn't much left. Obviously heed any mine warning signs. I've done a little birding in the forests (what's left of them) in Cambodia and never felt unsafe.

Yeah, it's all gone, the tigers, bears, fxcked up colonels, even gibbons would be hard to find these days. Cluster bombs and landmines can be sneaky though. I'd stick to the roads, and find a friendly local, to guide you around.

Most venomous snakes will scurry away. But the Malayan Pit Viper will usually not. They're nicknamed 'landmines' because they sit coiled up into a round shape and wait for prey. When they get scared they don't move but they strike fast and can inflict major damage.

Give Greg Blake a call and hire him as a guide.
He likely has lots of experience whilst on not so covert missions with the SAS in SE Asian jungles. Will stop you getting yer balls blown off.
You might still get mugged though..
Or what about giving Judy Dench a call?

The most dangerous thing you will meet will be a stray dog. It will also be extremely hot and difficult to get around. Not sure why anyone would want to go. It is just a shitload of trees, heat and bugs. Why?
