What are the the Quarantine Hotels in Phnom Penh?
They’re free standing structures of cement, metal, plastic and glass that house paying guests. All in around 20.
(Vote high-horse, NOT Forum registered bold letter names! inside joke.)
We were put into the Chun Hisin Hotel, between Kampuchea Krom, and Russian Blvd, at Street 225.
Nice view from roof. They did final swabs up there. Eventually food got boring, but much was surprisingly good. Staff were happy, for a reasonable tip, to bring us other food, etc. sometimes we just called down to street sellers, dropped cash (sterilized, don't you know.) And they took it to the desk for delivery. Staff rang our door bell and left stuff - pizza etc - in front of door.
We had a corner room with widely opening windows on two walls. Opened them early morning for cool fresh air, then adequate air con the rest of the time.
Internet good to bad depending on time of day.
A nice 2 star hotel, at 3.5 star price. We didn't book a place, just got on the airport bus, and, all in all, felt we were fairly lucky to get it.

While on the subject. Which hotels would you deem safe for a few nights? As in clean and less chance of catching covid. I know it's a silly question but would like to know your thoughts.
It doesn’t matter, you don’t have a choice. You don’t get to choose where they send you.Guest5 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:09 pmWhile on the subject. Which hotels would you deem safe for a few nights? While I don't plan on staying at Chun Hisin again for fun, it was firmly OK for a 2 star place.
5 Star Hotels usually have some dust on top of the wardrobe, and this hotel did too. That said, the room, when we first went in, was clean for the class of hotel. I'm sure they had made an extra effort. After we entered, all room cleaning was up to us, with supplies given as asked. They gave clean sheets and we changed them. same with towels, etc.
About Covid, A single tiny virus on a surface isn't likely to make you sick. Any normally clean room, empty for 72 hours, is pretty darn safe.

Sorry, I didn't mean a quarantine hotel, I meant a hotel for a leisurely break, in town.Alexandra wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:12 pmIt doesn’t matter, you don’t have a choice. I'd recommend Villa Grange.Guest5 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 6:48 pmSorry, I didn't mean a quarantine hotel, I meant a hotel for a leisurely break, in town.Alexandra wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:12 pmIt doesn’t matter, you don’t have a choice. Normally I'd be scowling at you from the corner but I flew to the UK so that unpleasantness is removed.
Call them direct to get a deal.

Plenty of options. I’ve had some great staycations with deals at Raffles and Rosewood, as well as at some of the boutiques (Baitong, Aquarius, Patio). Everyone is offering deals so think about what amenities you want (what’s the most important, pool, room, bar, etc?), what part of town, and search from there.Guest5 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 6:48 pmSorry, I didn't mean a quarantine hotel, I meant a hotel for a leisurely break, in town.Alexandra wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:12 pmIt doesn’t matter, you don’t have a choice. With pools shut and restaurants on reduced capacity you may get better deals on Airbnb. Worth a look if you don’t need room service and a phone in your room for example.

I did some research... If you do book ahead, and find the right (and nice) place, it is cheaper to arrive and do a quarantine in Japan -- than it is here in Cambodia...

cost at the hotel in japan is: 2 weeks: 80,000JPY
