Ok, I've been lurking bout on this site and others for the past month or so trying to gather some useful info. I'm a gaijin living in Japan and selling aquatic plants and aquarium fish, shrimp and equipment over the internet. This is a big business here in Japan and my main sources of goods has been, until recently, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore,Malaysia and Indonesia. Unfortunately prices are going up, my suppliers in Thailand doubled their prices recently and my buyers aren't buying.
If you are are in this business or know of someone dealing in terrestrial and aquatic plants, tropical fish and such I'd be most appreciative for the information.
Aquarium Plants
Noticed there have been a few people checking the post but no one has replied. Specifically, I'm looking for waterlilies,Tonl Sap appears to be covered with them-I assume they must be easy to get.
And, since a picture is worth 1 million words here are some handy links in regards to what I'd like.

I'm not in a hurry for them as it's the growing season, harvesting them now would result in a lot of dead and rotting bulbs. I would like quotes based on an order of 100 pieces.

Ok, starting with plants there are the waterlilies which are usually shipped as bulbs before the growing season starts http://www.waterplantsnews.com/index_fi ... e28191.jpgFreefrench wrote:What kind of plants and fishes are you looking for? Give more details with names pls....
Most Asian waterlilies are of this species http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nymph ... yanmar.jpg
Most cultivated varieties are of this species http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymphaea_colorata
And the Cryptocornes
Wild varieties
Found along the Mekong River
Cryptocoryne albida http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... i/abi.html
Found in Vietnam may also be in Cambodia
Cryptocoryne annamica http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... n/ann.html
Found all over Thailand, different varieties may also be in Cambodia
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... l/bal.html
Cryptocoryne crispatula var. crispatula
Cultivated varieties These types are often grown on plant farms in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia
Cryptocoryne retrospiralis http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... t/ret.html
Cryptocoryne spiralis http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... i/spi.html
Cryptocoryne wendtii Of which there are many forms as cultivated in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Holland and Florida http://www.xs4all.nl/~crypts/Cryptocory ... n/wen.html
The most popular fish are the bettas These are the types cultivated in Thailand and sold around the world Many Thai breeders specialize in only one or two types, poor fish may sell wholesale in the US for 2-5 cents each but real good quality fish may sell for US$10-$30 each and a matched pair from a good bloodline may go for more.Freefrench wrote:What kind of plants and fishes are you looking for? I've ranked the bettas according to breeding difficulty and desirability but all things are not equal as some colour varieties are more popular than others and demand a better price.
Plakat comes in many colours red, blue, green, copper, gold, yellow, white http://www.aquabid.com/uploads/fwbettaswt1272701403.jpg
Half Moon Plakat again many different colours http://www.bettafishonline.com/images/p ... copper.jpg
Halfmoon http://www.aquabid.com/uploads/fwbettashm1272663174.jpg
Crowntail http://www.aquabid.com/uploads/fwbettasct1272599796.jpg
Veiltail http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3053/277 ... abe632.jpg
Delta Tail http://i7.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/ae/77/bbcb_10.JPG
Double Tail http://www.aquabid.com/uploads/fwbettasdt1272648621.jpg
There are many desirable fish and plants that can be found in CambodiaFreefrench wrote:What kind of plants and fishes are you looking for? Give more details with names pls....
Here is a list of other fish that can be found in the country http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildlife_of_Cambodia#Fish http://fish.mongabay.com/data/Cambodia.htm
There are also many wild betta species
Mouthbrooding Betta
Betta prima http://www.atisonbetta.com/gallery15.asp
Betta pugnax http://www.atisonbetta.com/gallery16.asp
Bubblenesting Betta
Betta imbellis http://www.atisonbetta.com/gallery11.asp
Betta stiktos http://home.arcor.de/isimichi/bettastiktos4.jpg
Obviously there is enough business here for 100 fish exporters. I think it would be best to start with one or two good strains of domestic Betta (Plakat), several of wild betta and try and find some of the plants. It's important to ensure a steady supply so these items will have to be cultivated or bred commercially and always not taken from the wild.
