I need an honest feedback about Maybank in Cambodia

Postby high_heels » Mon Feb 06, 2012 10:11 am

Hello fellow forum members,

I just need to know if there is anyone here who have done business with Maybank in Cambodia? I always thought they are good at doing business because they seem to have a reputable name. But I know this agriculture company who has been promised by Maybank to do a project with them but it's been dragged for months now and practically the bank hasn't been doing what it promised on their agreement.

Do they have a good reputation when it comes to business dealings? Or are they just one of those banks who are good with marketing but fails to follow through? I am greatly considering this bank for afew of my businesses here but I might be doing it with the wrong banking group.

Thanks for reading this long inquiry. Any of your inputs are highly appreciated.

Is it Maybank that allows you to pay the water and electric bills right there ?

Do other banks do that ?

I'm not sure.

It's a big bank in Malaysia that doesn't really have to compete with the other private banks because it's in 'son of the soil' (bumiputra) hands, with all the advantages that entails.

They entered the Cambodian market at about the same time as their national competitors in Malaysia, Public Bank. Look at them now. They've done so badly here that even their HQ in Malaysia aren't happy (and they're slow...) and have recalled their top boss here last year or maybe two years ago...
