Be the proud owner of a share in the Riverside Bistro
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Riverside Bistro over the last 20 years. We look forward to serving you for the next 10 years.
The Riverside Bistro is looking to expand it's current business and is looking to finance the expansion by selling shares of the Riverside Bistro.
Proven cash flows combined with a solid 10 year lease makes this a more secure investment than many other restaurants.
Expected returns are 15% per year based on the last two years of profits.
A 5% share is available at $50000. A maximum of 45% of the Riverside Bistro is available.

Well, we can't buy it anyway because only 45% is for sale. That's too bad. So what do you need the cashflow for exactly if you've been operating at a profit for, let's take a conservative estimate, 10 years?
You need 450k for what exactly?
Expanding, extending, new boat?

At the end of the day a business owner is free to price his business at whatever level he likes and then it's up to the buyers to decide fair value. It would appear that the profits are $150,000 a year. That sounds like a good profit to me but I don't know how restaurants are valued. Different sectors will want different ROIs.
So if I invested 5℅ it'd take 7 years to get it back? (Assuming lots)

The OP suggests a return of 15 percent based on profits of the last two years. On a valuation of a million that suggests distributed profits of 150k. Of course, as a potential purchaser vlad you would need to do your due diligence and make sure those figures are supported by financial records etc.

If I had 50k to lose I'd rather put the amount in securing a lease in neighbouring area and refurbishing a place, therefore getting 100% of a business (preferably not a bar or restaurant), rather than paying for the privilege of being an insignificant (but "proud") shareholder with nothing to say in the way the business is conducted and zero recourse if said business went under or if profit targets aren't met.
