How to attract chinese tourists?
How to attract chinese tourists?
It's actually none of my business, but I've had a few beers and lunch in my usual spots (riverside)and they all complain how business is going down and how they struggle to survive.
My thought was that they need to adapt and attract the ever increasing number of chinese tourists. I know the great majority are just shuttled from one chinese business to the other on those horrible buses (which piss me off everytime I am driving around here), but there is also a good and increasing number of more cosmopolitan and affluent ones who are travelling independently.
My.question: what is an effective cheap way to market your business to such demographic?

Pay commission to the bus driver.
Why would an affluent Chinese family want to spend the afternoon sitting in a low-class riverside bar drinking 60 cent beers?

To be fair the bus loads of Chinese are not exactly going to high end restaurants. The place on 57 near Sihanouk has 4/5 buses outside every lunchtime. just a bog standard restaurant...BillyB wrote: Why would an affluent Chinese family want to spend the afternoon sitting in a low-class riverside bar drinking 60 cent beers?
That happens to be Chinese owned
You need to contact tour operators on websites like qunar.com (which is a very popular website and play on words from the Chinese 你去哪儿 "you go where?") possibly trough a Chinese friend, and offer them kickbacks and a Chinese friendly environment.

my observation of the chinese business model is "racism is far far more important than money or anything else" so you have to incorporate that into your business outlook

last i checked this was still cambodia and as such i cant even image any such hidden talents that your violet could possibly possess, that would have me venturing even into the same sangkat as herbatshitcrazyweirdo wrote:I think you and Violet may have a future together.

Chinese mostly go in chinese environnement restaurant only (for the food or the language ?).
Tour bus also massively park at Tonle Bassac II Restaurant.
Haven't seen many "solo" chinese tourist yet out of tour group operator and/or gambling tourist.

Well, according to the U.S. embassy, "Generally, Chinese men come to Phnom Penh for business reasons, not for the
purpose of sex tourism. Chinese clientele refrain from the low-end brothels used by average Cambodians, preferring karaoke bars and massage parlors that cater to the Chinese. "
