The most effective way to get rid of unwanted saplings and shrubs etc is to grub them out by the roots however does anyone know if khmer use round up or something similar to paint the freshly cut stumps ? We've just cut a shitload out of our kep block in a strip next to a wall that needs to be backfilled eventually and I want to make sure they don't come back. The khmer we ask to grub out just don't seem to get the concept and continually just cut back which is only temporary. I could get a machine in with a bucket to scrape but that's $40 an hour.

Don't ask any 'organic' people...
I have a similar issue but an 'organic lady' called me a 'chemical man'. If you wish to consider her advice, buy a roll of barbed wire and a goat

I'm told by my barang mate who's got land nearby that there is indeed a local roundup. Sounds ineffectual against junior scrub. Goats ? I just put about 40 trees in fruit/flowing etc prepping for an eventual house build. No thanks. Although I do like mutton curry.

Round UP is Glyphosate and Glyphosate it is readily available in Cambodia, and most of what I have seen comes in from Thailand. You will be able to get it at any seed, fertilizer, chemical business.
