I'm looking at getting a scooter and car and am not sure of prices over here.
Are prices that much different than Thailand?
How much for a decent car or scooter?

Cars are big headaches here in my imo, expensive, no where to park usually, have pay to park overnight too and the traffic is horrendous at times. A scoot can weave through traffic much easier.

Hello Baldy
Since you want to learn French, I think you should consider buying a French car, they come very cheap here and are frequently used because Cambodia was once a French colony. Personally I can recommend Peugeot or Renault or Citroen. Just go to one one of the numerous garages on rue Troll 1789 bis.
Cheers

That would be cool if you could find a colonial era car. If you do it'll probably have a Camry or Maxima engine under the hood.

in all seriousness you can get a decent bike starting from $1000+
and you can get shittier bikes cheaper than that (or urgent sales haha)
its all about your budget and how much you want to spend/specs you want on a bike.
some of the 125cc's go for around $1250 new.
