Toyota Prius
I had an interesting talk with the Playboy about why so many of them are standing in car dealerships. You should too if you're contemplating buying one, JM.
In short, they seem to have programming problems.

They are the only car here which have slipped in price.
Most makes cost more than before, the prius can cost $1500 less than before.
Someone told me that a battery pack was only $600 but I doubt that.
And they would be pigs of things to maintain here, especially if they broke down in the provinces.

one can jackal. but they are very complex and uninspiring to drive. a good friend of mine has one in the uk,which he regrets buying. he paid 23grand for a new 2010 model. oh,and they are really ugly cars too. the new camrys are pretty, like mine.
A former Khmer colleague of mine sold hers as the petrol costs were too high. God knows where she drove it, but she was forking out the best part of $200/m which would indicate she had it on combustion only - but that's almost double what I spend on an old RX300 "guzzler" for my daily office run across town and also carries pretty minimal maintenance costs as every Khmer & their dog has got one.Jackal wrote:Can one not disable the synergy drive and solely use the combustion engine of the thing?
Then again, maybe she just drove like a typical Khmer and felt the need to press at least one of the pedals at her feet at all times...

Our office supervisor and her husband just bought a '97 Toyota Corolla for $5800 USD! Apparently the price on these cars had increased due to a govt ban on pre 2000 models. She reckons you could get them for $4800 last year. Even that price is a good $1500 over what you would pay in the US. Likewise the price for my moto has apparently increased by about $300, possibly for the same reason. Pity mine has been 'tagged' by a Lexus at an intersection and crashed by one of my 'best men' in front of my wedding ceremony. Nothing like watching your motorbike skittling down the road after being rearended by a van, and then having to turn and smile for the wedding photographer.
Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.
