Actually, as you know, mine was the Mk1 CTi - the Convertible version of the GTiPetrol Head wrote:Mk1 golf is the real deal. I always respected that one.

It is 90kg heavier than a GTI though. I drove one years ago and it didn’t have the same poke of an equivalent GTI.
