Cars around Cambodia
No offense to Brits, but I have never once considered a car being British a strong selling point.

WHAT ABOUT SPIGZY AND HIS STUNNING WIFE ? I can actually see them in a RR. Ridiculously photogenic couple that they are
Wasn't invited, wouldn't have gone - and no RR for at least 20 years, I'm still a whippersnapper!
Btw, what ever happened to the old black Porsche 944 Turbo I used to see on Mao Tse Tung - nothing special, but weird car to be in Cambodia since that is the topic?

Surely the 924 was the worst Porsche ever made!
911s everywhere & soon to arrive at the Porsche dealership too, a absolute joy to drive, but for me all too common in their various guises.
I was just curious about the 944 though, not because I want one, just because it is one of a kind here in the Kingdom of Wonder which is where I hoped the thread would go to perhaps identify some rare gems seen on K440ers travels.

Weren't the 914 and 928 even worse?Spigzy wrote:Surely the 924 was the worst Porsche ever made!
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Depends on the definition of worse. Reliability, horrendous. As a car to drive and play with, quite fun.
I happen to like the 944, 924 and 914, but more so because they were more the type of the "hot hatch" instead of the "high performance" 911s. I would much rather see a modern incarnation of the 944 / 914 vs. the Boxsters and Caymans you have nowadays. I'm one of the weird Porsche people that thinks they should make cars OTHER THAN the 911.
**For the record, I've only driven 944s, 924s and 914s, so I can't compare the ownership experience to the Boxster.

I still have a 928 in the uk, definitely not a bad car, far from it. 5L V8, the thing will cruise for miles and in absolute comfort aside from the traditional hard Porsche suspension which is increasingly horrific due to the road conditions. That and any electrical gremlins, lift up the carpet and a 928 has more wires than a 747! Even took the new Cayenne for a test drive last weekend and that whilst comfortable still had the hard suspension when going through bumps, nothing like a Range Rover.
Still hoping that Cambodia will eventually have its own "barn find" story full of relics pre-Pol Pot. There's got to be one.

So will the Rolls Royce sold in Cambodia come with big "Rolls Royce" stickers and the blue stickers under the handles?

On my way to the passport office a while ago I saw a black RR with white stickers under the handles. It made it look even more classyHanno wrote:So will the Rolls Royce sold in Cambodia come with big "Rolls Royce" stickers and the blue stickers under the handles?
