Drivers License B (for cars) Renewal
Drivers License B (for cars) Renewal
I got a B class (for cars and small trucks) driving license in 2009 and it expires in a week. I never really drove cars during that time, only motorcycles, and I have a separate driving license for motorcycles (Class A1 & A2 for small and big bikes). I am wondering if I let it expire and sometime down the road (in 1 or 2 years) I decide I want to renew the B class license for cars. Will it be easy to do, or will it be like starting over and will have to go to the DOT and do test, etc.? Is there some grace period after which a license expires that you have until you renew it? If it seems to be a better idea to go ahead and renew it now even though I may not use it for another several years, where to get that done? Lucky Moto, Mittapheap Driving School, other?? Cost for renewal? Can renew for another 7 years, or only can do one year at a time now?? Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

Interesting. I had my A2+B license renewed at lucky lucky about a month and a half ago, but, I haven't actually seen it yet as it's at a friends in PP until I am in town to pick it up. Hopefully they didn't fuck it up. Last year I had my licenses renewed at the Ta Khmao DMV (or whatever the hell it's called), but this year they said they couldn't do it and that I had to go to PP. Too bad, because that was easiest and cheapest. No lines.ricecakes wrote:I went to Lucky recently to try and get a BIG bike licence for over 250cc ( so i can use it in vietnam ) and they said the govt has put the biks licenses on hold or some such.
On a related note, Lucky Lucky did tell me that both licenses would be on a single card now... So that's a bonus.
Thanks for that feedback. Two quickie follow-ups: 1. Anyone know anything about how long after the B license expires I have to renew it? As I said, I don't really use it yet, but don't want to have to go through testing or driving school to get it again in the future. 2. I have the A2 license (for bikes over 250cc) and wonder if Lucky can combinge A2 with B for me as holidayinkh mentions above?

I renewed my B class licence which was four years out of date around a year ago. No problems, but I had to pay $50 instead of $35.
last week I went to renew again and this time they require my UK licence, passport and visa and passport photos and $35, somIndeclijded and will just do it myself at the ministry for $10, as I must go there to apply for a test for my A2 licence anyhow, as they will not add it if no matching category on your oversea licence.

FYI, I just called Lucky Moto. They said no problem if I let my current B license expire for 2 or 3 years. At that time if I want to renew it I only pay $10 extra. No other problems according to them.

Instead of renewing my big bike and car license every year, i am going do the test and get a 10year license
I have been told
Big bike 10yr $250
Car 10yr $250
This includes commission and assistance
Anyone know what the normal price is?
I have been told will be issued one card for both licenses

You will be issued 1 card for both.
I
Mine were both several years out of date. Got hit for 70 to do them a month ago. That's 35 each. Lucky lucky told me that it will only be one license pa to renew. So on that basis paying 500 for ten years vs 70 initial hit then 35 bucks for 9 yrs = 385.

Just went into Lucky to renew my existing car license and also to get a new license for bikes over 125cc. To renew my Cambodian car license was no problem (even though it had expired a year ago) but if I wanted to get a big bike license I had to get my Danish drivers license translated at my embassy with an official stamp on it. The thing is there is no Danish embassy in Cambodia .... anybody know a way around this?
Doesn't the Swedish embassy provides Danish consular services? I'd check with them firstRon wrote:Just went into Lucky to renew my existing car license and also to get a new license for bikes over 125cc. I just sent them an email and am waiting for reply. I surely hope so.
But it must be possible to contact a driving school, show your drivers license and pay for documents that showed you "passed" the test. Would surely be easier to just have one license .... and even better if it lasted 10 years.

Yes, you can do the test regardless of whether you hold an existing Danish license.Ron wrote:I just sent them an email and am waiting for reply. I surely hope so.

When I write "passing" the test I mean paying for it. I dont want to do the test again.
