Hi Guys,
New to the forum and expect this has been asked before, so bear with me...
I plan to be in Phnom Penh for 3 months and would like a motorcycle with which to ride around day to day and potentially trips around the country. I have a international drivers license that shows I have motorcycle certification. Do I need to also get a Cambodian drivers license and insurance in order to ride the bike? I have health insurance policy for my international travel already. Anyone recommend a good place to start looking for a bike online, my girlfriend took me to a bike dealer and he showed us bikes that were way overpriced and also shuddered and had other issues when started.
Thanks in advance.

Motos69 if you looking to buy.
He has number of Honda Transalps and Africa Twins.
Plus sweet deal at moment on pair of Triumph Sprints @ 2250 each. Great bike to tour the country on in comfort.
If I was in the market for another bike I'd pick one up. Steal at that price.
Plus he probably let you leave in his shop when you go and put it up for sale. Found the owner to be straight and trustworthy.
If you have international license and your insurance company happy with it then you generally covered. Don't stop for the cops period. They won't shoot you when you drive past. Never been stopped. They tried a few times in early days but never been bothered since. Don't get pulled over at roadblock checkpoints either. Must be my cologne.

I believe that Cambodia isnt part of the international driving licence scheme so technically it isnt valid here and you would need a cambodian licence to drive anything over 125cc.
Practically speaking it wont be an issue unless you have an accident then you may or may not find your insurance company walking away from liability. Only an issue if something bad happens.
I rode for 4 years without ever getting stopped then twice in quick succession was stopped at a checkpoint on road 4 with no option but to stop unless i wanted to cause physical harm as about 5 police blocked the road. This was manned by police and army together.
