Those guys in the photos don't look like sprightly man bun hipsters. All that grey in the beards. Is one wearing gaiters? Wtf? Have to dig out my waders.
There's not a while lot of cafe racers around town, most would fall into the brat or tracker style.
I had Vay chop a little Sangyang up for me 4 years ago. Wouldn't do it again.
The low bars do suck for 90% of riding, here or anywhere. I imagine it's not too painful flitting between Chinese House, Bouchon and Hangar 44 in an evening, but commuting and touring would suck moustachioed balls.

Honda Benly's have been getting the cafe racer customization mods for years, the MSX is the new favorite. Some just looks ridiculous, like the crazy long drive chains, other parts are more cosmetic. I think it's great kids can express themselves in this way, I've seen some excellent looking customs here and in Bangkok. The kids with the rat bikes are getting pretty creative too.
As for the 250/ 400 cafe racers around, I do like the styling but I'm not sure how practical they are.one I checked out recently had a sharpish flange from where the tank was joined together positioned maybe an inch above the lowered seat. It was exactly the right place to cut your ballsack off in a sudden stop.

I like the idea of cafe racers, and at one point I wanted a nighthawk 750 based one.
But I don't like the trend that they have become an accessory to in recent times, and I don't like to see good bikes that would be on the verge of appreciating in value being chopped up by unqualified pricks and having a badly bent seat hoop welded on by wishes and prahoc, and the cheapest and nastiest of China tail lamp and indicators thrown on.
This must be a sign of ageing,
I do like the msx kids though. Some have real style.

I'd chop them up into small peices and stick them in a furnace then get the resulting molten metal and make anal probes and then when they fell apart or went rusty I would dump them in the Mariana Trench, along with any Hipsters lying around.epidemiks wrote: I had Vay chop a little Sangyang up for me 4 years ago. Yeah, not sure about all those classic bikes getting chopped up,
I like the original look of for example the cb400f four just fine.
An old touring bike like that looks wrong being made into a racer imo.

Talk about Tragically hip.....
A stock SR400 is much more practical and one could always soup it up sleeper style.

Toad Hall dressing and artisanal whiskey poseuring in a city that still has an open sewer running through it.
Haha - my money’s on Playboy
Firstly. That has to be staged.Petrol Head wrote:Fantastic isn't it? Definitely close to hitting Peak Penh now.Canucklhead wrote:Talk about Tragically hip.....

Secondly. Please don't confirm it's in PP. Please!
Thirdly. Please tell me it's staged. Please.
