Hi,
I own a 1964 Vespa, which was restored by Arm Scooter Shop in Bangkok Thailand, and I have imported to Cambodia legally.
But now it is having problem with electical system, all in a sudden, eveything stop working such as Horn, Tail Light, Head light. BUT it can start normally with one kick.
Could you please recommend me some methods or repair shop around Phnom Penh?
Thanks

I am sorry, i am not sure where is 360, it is near TTP market ?
do u know the name of his shop?
Check your battery, it's not needed for starting but it's for accesories, check fuses and your ground wire.
There are some good vespa forums that are very helpful.
If you need parts I can recommend scootrs.com they will take orders to bus and you can pick stuff up at the bus station that way you get things overnight or sameday if done early enough.
I had a 65 vespa too sold it after 5 years great fun but best if you learn to work on them yourself. Most mechanics here are worthless for vespa work.

Thanks for you respond, actaully, there is no battery in my Vespa, the electric system works perfectly with spark plug but it seems there is no electric out to Horn/Light Switch and the important thing is, i did nothing to it, just park it normally in my house and it happened last 3 weeks. First i assumed it caused by flying wheel, but i noticed that the engie can start perfectly so it maye comes from breaking wire somewhere.Beaker wrote:Check your battery, it's not needed for starting but it's for accesories, check fuses and your ground wire.

Mine was a T5 it had a battery.
This link is the wiring diagram. ------ http://www.scooterhelp.com/electrics/pa ... 2.150.html
If you click on view large image it will download a pdf image that's much easier to see.
Check the power at the junction box, where all the wires for lights come together and get power from flywheel. That wire from flywheel maybe the problem it should be yellow (but if yours is not stock wiring harness it could be another colour) check that it has good connection and has power coming from it.

There is or at least there was a Vietnamese family of Vespa mechanics on Charles de Gaul opposite the school before the big messy junction at the stadium.Big Vespa sign above the shop which is also a money changer.

I am going to check it, and I will know what is happening.

I think you talked about a guy, who parked his vespa in front of his house, and he is also a money changer behind Caltex Gas stration infront of SIS school.horace wrote:There is or at least there was a Vietnamese family of Vespa mechanics on Charles de Gaul opposite the school before the big messy junction at the stadium.Big Vespa sign above the shop which is also a money changer.
I have no idea with him, but someone told me that his service is expecsive.

Hi guys thanks for you replies, and i found the problem yesterday, it was from voltage regulator on the left side of Vespa because the yellow wire did not connect to the voltage regulator propertly (loose) so then i fixed it and now everything works perfectly.
