I bought an old Tomos tx-50 childrens dirtbike a few years ago,and at the end of february I am hoping to get the last parts to Cambodia, it is powered by a standard tomos A35 two speed automatic two stroke moped engine.
It is a fun little bike and basicly a budget bike (they were cheap a few years ago, I bought one for 75 euro's and one for 125euro.
I don't want to spend a large amount of money on getting it to run again, so the standard western/cambodian dirtbike mechanics I have used in the past are not my first choice.
Which cheap moped workshop is good for working on a moped that is not very common here?
preferable near ToulTompoung BKK3 area, but other area's of Phnom Penh are also possible, since the bike-parts will fit in a large cardboard box.
thanks in advance for any useful advice.
which mechanic to use for work on an a-typical moped?

You have two hopes to get anyone working on your moto.
One of them is Bob Hope and the other is No Hope
You'll find no parts and zero experience here.

There are some decent motorbike repair shops on St. 155, sort of *NE* of Russian Market. Make sure they know about 2T, or two-stroke engines. "Bpii tee/tā" is how you say it.
Use Total $6 per liter synthetic oil only. Engine should last forever on that oil.

No need to despair, I did buy a few spare parts, so hopefully I will have gambled correctly what needs to be replaced.YaTingPom wrote: You'll find no parts and zero experience here.
(bought a new cylinder set with piston, clutch parts/springs, gasket-set)
thanks, but this is the two stroke oil for the petrol I assume, or are you talking transmission/clutch/engine oil?TristranandIsolde wrote:Use Total $6 per liter synthetic oil only. Engine should last forever on that oil.
perhaps an elderly mechanic will be more used to the old two stroke moped engines, and have the patience to figure out one that is different to what he has seen before. anyone know one?
