Good day,
I am looking to replace my solo seat on my old Honda Cub with a long 'bench' seat, like this:
I went to a moto seat seller on Street 163 near the Russian Market, and he had some older long seats, but he didn't have the right mounting bracket to fit the curved back of my 1970s Cub. I found this on Ebay, it ships from HCMC, and in the photos you can see it includes the right mount for an old Cub:

Does anyone have any leads on where I could find a seat / mounting bracket like this here in Phnom Penh? Thanks!
Moto Seat like this in Phnom Penh?
Akira is the Super Cub dude. He'll be along shortly.
You can PM him user AE86.

Hmm, I didn't think of going that route, as I'm trying to keep my Cub original, but I guess the welding shops here could probably make one that would work and still looks "s-at" and all.LexusSchmexus wrote:Fab your own...
Any other suggestions for a moto seat seller in town? I'd like to think somewhere out there is a used original seat/mount that I could refurbish and use.
If you haven't tried some sellers in Russian market, they might have some laying around. You might be able to get a "square" Cub seat bracket and retrofit some hardware (spacers) to take up the "slack" in the skinnier frame. Should still bolt up to the long seat but I've never gone that route so I'm not 100% sure.
Also those streets listed by epedemiks are good for all kinds of Cub stuff. You'll probably find a seller willing to sell you something from their pile in the back.

Will do, thanks!epidemiks wrote:Check the streets around here
I asked about half a dozen sellers in Russian Market, and they all pointed me to the aforementioned shop on St 163 that I checked out already. I will search the area epidemiks suggested before going the "retrofit" route.AE86 wrote:If you haven't tried some sellers in Russian market, they might have some laying around. Thanks guys, if I'm successful I will post results.
Thanks for the advice, I went to that area epidemiks suggested and had success. I found a seat with a mount, but the mount was meant for square backed Cubs, so the seller brought me to a welding/fab place. There they made some modifications to fit the older frame, and further modifications so that the seat latch would grab properly, and after a quick spray with some cheap silver colour, voila! the long seat is on and looking good.
All that's left to do is find some rubber bits to install in the seat bottom in line with the gas tank, because right now the seat is bending in the middle because it's not supported. Also, eventually I hope to reupholster the seat with a tan or cream colour to match the bike better.
Thanks again for the help!
