I've been using one of these locks on my moto for a while now confident it would slow down any attempted theft. And yes it would slow someone up by at-least 1 second. Once locked the lock can be disengaged/opened by simply applying side pressure to the pin that goes through the holes in the disc. It might be that the lock is worn out as the barrel is loose.
Motobike disk lock - fail
Maybe spend more than $2 next time or buy a cheap alarm for $10 on AliExpress.

Those cheap little things always sucked.
I brought over one of these 19 years ago:
Somewhat difficult to carry around, but well worth the trouble.

I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.
I had one of these. True not much fun carrying it around but non of my bikes were stolen (London) even though they tried.
I own a Suzuki moto now so it will not get stolen!

I have both a small foreign bought disk lock for the scooter and this beauty for my pricier bike.
The trouble with disk locks and alarms is that the moto can still be lifted up into a tuk tuk or whatever. Even two skinny Jao can lift up a Scoopy and steal it. At least with a chain you can attach it and the bike to something, like a pole or meth head for example.
All these things are is a deterrent. Hopefully the jao will move on to an easier target.
I bought a $10 alarm on Aliexpress and it just wires direct into the battery. It has a anti tilt backup battery and a fucking loud alarm with sensitivity settings. It does not immobilize the bike but hopefully the sound is enough to put a bad person off nicking it.
Failing that just buy a Daelim...

When do you use the alarm? Just at nighttime?YaTingPom wrote:The trouble with disk locks and alarms is that the moto can still be lifted up into a tuk tuk or whatever. Anytime I park my bike somewhere when i return it is invariably moved elsewhere...or I return to find someone sitting on it.
The moto parking guys must love you if you set the alarm when you go to the market!
I don't do markets. Too hot, too many small hands and plus it's shopping. Which I hate, especially with a woman.
When I do park it the Moto guys know it's belled up and take care of it!
The siren actually hurts your ears and makes me jump if I forget it's on. Blamo!

Any lock is just a deterrent, get thieves to move on to an easier target.
If they're determined, they will just pick it up, take it away ona remorque or in a pickup, and cut the lock later.
