Been looking at smartphones in Paradise sur Mer for my girlfriend.
I guess it's gonna be either a Samsung or a Huawei as they are the dominant brands here. Mostly just want it for the ease of sending photos to family via Whatsapp or whatever it is they use these days.
Is the camera quality on most smartphones too close to be a consideration or are some better than others? (i read that the amount of pixel MB's dont mean alot on their own)
Specs i should look for? Or are smartphone cameras nowhere near the quality of digital cameras anyway?
Cheers

There's a good reason why the low & mid range digital camera market has collapsed, the phones have become better and better at packing top lenses and electronics.Or are smartphone cameras nowhere near the quality of digital cameras anyway?
I've been using Huawei for a few years, their cameras are excellent value. Their latest models got Leica optics, you couldn't get better at those prices and prices in Cambodia are pretty good.

Flagship models from Samsung and huawei will both have excellent cameras. My previous phone, nexus 6p was made by huawei and the camera on that was fine.
Google's pixel is meant to have the highest quality camera in the market but at a price.
Most of my friends have Samsungs and the cameras on then are also excellent

I have had a couple of Samsungs, a couple of lgs, an old huawei, and currently have a redmi. The Samsung 7 blows them all out of the water. I hear the latest huawei (9?) Is good but no personal experience. The Samsung 7/is widely recognized for being fab

I am a keen photographer and would never throw away my DSLR's but the camera on my Samsung 7S is absolutely amazing.

Cheers bongs,
Dumb question. I've seen a few Huawei more tablet sized phones that are cheaper than the small smartphones. Why is that then? Less demand or a specs thing? Thinking i'd like a larger size for using mobile internet if my connection go's down.
