Solutions for place with weak wifi signal?
What are my options for now staying in a rented place that is a little far away from the wifi router/weak signal?
Do those plug into laptop boosters really work well? Plug in another router into my laptop?
Cheers

How about turning on your phone hotspot function? 4g is so cheap with mobitel, 80gb for $8, I do that wherever there's slow or no wifi
i can't find this 80GB of 4g for $8 i see an iNet2000 plan that is 40GB for $20 so 80GB would be $40. where as I pay $5. for unlimited wifi.
i bought one of these wifi boosters from eBay https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw= ... 2749.l2658 , just a little over $10 with free shipping,
and i'm very satisfied reception went from having to be outside or standing in the window closest to the neighbors router to having the booster in the window and having wifi through out the house upstairs and down for computer and/or mobile phone.
The booster is placed where ever you have the best signal then re-transmits it throughout the house

You can buy an old WiFi router and use it as a WiFi bridge. Most models can do it. Plenty around for 12$ or similar.
have been recommended these

seen them in panthip bkk but didnt buy as they were asking substantially more than the online price. most places dont need.
bluetooth into my phone if in a place that has no wifi

That seems a lot more data than Metfone. I'll give it a go. How many hours of regular internet browsing does 80gb give you with smartphone tethered to laptop then? Is the internet speed patchy compared to fixed line?
I guess most smartphones are tether capable?

Exchange 1USD for 150USD with Metfone, that's like 6GB of traffic (2.5cents/MB : 150*100/2.5 = 6000MB)
To activate *6236*100# for 7 days or 2USD for 300 USD *6236*200# for 14 days
Another option would be to have a 4G router, that can be purchased for 60/70 USD (you put a sim inside and it will share the connection to 5, 6, 7...or more devices - depending on the model)
One last option is to buy a Wifi Extender for 20USD. You just need to plug it into a wall socket, configure it with the settings of the Wifi signal you want to extend and you're set.

I've used the TL-WA850RE (last from the page), it does the job. Can't say for the other models. Those products are available in Cambodia
