Place with Fast Internet
Does anyone know where I can take my laptop to get a fast internet connection to upload and download? I have a connection through my mobile phone, but it has been as slow as molasses recently, and I can't download large files. I've seen posts on here from people who went to ISP's offices and worked from there, but a search didn't come up with anything.
Any recommendations would be gratefully received; service providers, bars, cafes whatever.

Get your own connection at home. Rates nowadays are reasonable enough.pattyflipper wrote:Does anyone know where I can take my laptop to get a fast internet connection to upload and download? Check out EZECOM. I found their current offer the most attractive out of all the providers I compared. Unlimited downloads at 528K for $172/month after tax.
If you've got a one off upload, I once went to Citylink's office on Sihanouke to upload a 20GB file to an ftp server. They started it when the office closed at 6pm, and it was done sometime by morning.

LOL, when was the last time you visited the real world? Cambo rates have barely come down from outrageous, to laughable. I've just been looking into upgrading to a fiber connection for $25/month.Get your own connection at home. Rates nowadays are reasonable enough.

I checked with ezecom this morning, and despite it being advertised on their site, the 512k package still isn't available. There's 256k, or 1meg, but they are saying they won't supply 512. They didn't give a clear reason why, but said they will provide it soon.Doctor Seuss wrote: Check out EZECOM. I found their current offer the most attractive out of all the providers I compared. Apparently Excel are offering unlimited internet for $30 a month using a plug in USB modem ($30 to buy). No idea about speeds but could be worth checking out?

I'm only back here for a few weeks and am living in a hotel (with no internet), so a home connection is not possible/viable. As I said in my original post, I get a connection by plugging my laptop into my phone, and this is adequate (not great, but adequate) most of the time. I just need to do a couple of things which require a faster connection - hence my question. I'll certainly look into the Excel option though. Thanks yasm for the Metro recommendation. I'll check it out tomorrow.Doctor Seuss wrote: Get your own connection at home. Rates nowadays are reasonable enough.

I sincerely doubt you are going to get anything more than a shitty 56k cable set up for that price, and even then if you measure your speed its probably only 20.Bar Steward wrote:LOL, when was the last time you visited the real world?
