Well I think we have sourced our last parts from Apple.
I just checked the internet and back glass is as cheap as $15 and front with digitizer etc around $50. Next day delivery from Oz stock.
They don't mention Apple OEM or after market or what but who cares, what a bloody difference.

Now it's ur turn to go back and find where i ever said an iPhone can do things an Android can't (which is a very vague statement anyways).Goodoldkenny wrote:Well, I'm still waiting to hear what an iPhone can do that an Android can't.cambod wrote:Goodoldkenny wrote:Why an iPhone?
You can buy phones that do everything iPhone can do for a $100 to $150 brand new.

Cambod mate, I have at no time said it was equal to a $700 iPhone.
I said, again and again, I think it's better value.

U've changed ur argument to "BETTER VALUE," and for that argument i have no comment.
Value is in the hands of the phone-holder.

I've been an iPhone user for a few years and really like the intuitive and logical interface.
The gf was offered a choice of second-hand iPhone 3GS or new Samsung Cooper android phone. She chose the new Samsung (I would guess most Khmers would!)
So to help her set it up and help her use it, I've had to grapple with the android way of doing things and I've found it frustrating sometimes.
As a small but irritating example, how do you check how much space is left on the phone for the ever increasing amount of music, pictures and videos? Easy on an iPhone but I can't work out how to do it on the Samsung.
And deleting the entire phone log seems impossible - I've had to delete old calls one by one.
I'm sure it gets down to familiarity with each system but I prefer the Apple way.
One exception is Apple's implementation of Bluetooth. It's severely restricted and pretty much impossible to connect by Bluetooth (to transfer pictures, files etc) to non-iPhones. Absolute crap.

Perhaps it works well, but you have to jailbreak your iPhone to install this unofficial app - hardly an elegant solution, and voids the warranty if Apple find out..jm wrote:re iOS Bluetooth this might be worth a try:

The only time I ran a jailbroken iPhone (so I could do video calls over 3G) it was slow and unreliable, so I reinstalled the proper Apple OS.
We replaced the cracked glass on a iPhone 4 recently and it cost $55ish the glass and the sensor are bonded together. Done at Haksejm wrote: iPhone glass can be replaced here for around $25. I expect that's cheaper than

For what it's worth, I've replaced the front and back of an iPhone 3G. 1200 baht/$40 each side at MBK. That was over a year ago.
I recently had the home button on my 16-month-old iPhone 4 replaced. 500 bt repaired, 800 bt/$25 new. At MBK. I first tried the chain store repair service Banana IT at MBK. They wanted 1600 bt! I walked away and went to one of the smaller vendors, Magic Phone, on the mobile phone floor (can never remember the floor but I think it's 4th) at MBK. Less than 30 minutes for the replacement and works beautifully.
Yes, MBK is in Bangkok, but lots of people go to BKK frequently so it's worth mentioning.
