Currently, the participating carriers are AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the US - and EE in the UK, but I think this has a lot of potential (w/ smartphones) especially in places like Cambodia where one might be juggling several SIM cards.One SIM. Many options.

I'm not much of an Apple fan, but one feature of the new iPad Air 2, which is pretty cool is the "Apple SIM":
