Hello Browne,
How good is SEAtel 4g coverage in and around Sihanoukville; ie, does it reach the beaches like Occheutal / Serendipity / Otres / Otres 2? What about the islands like Koh Rong / Saloem, etc?
TIA -- I tried looking for a SEAtel coverage map, but no luck so far.

I went to the branch in SHV a couple of months ago. Wasn't impressed with the staff but they told me I had to buy a phone from them to use their simcard. I left scratching my head. The one one thing about them is I don't thing your sharing much bandwidth because I go by the store a couple of times a day and their never seems to be any customers.

Great coverage all over SHV including Otres. It worked in Koh Rong Samloem too although it was slower, still good enough for streaming videos and Skype calls. I would say 3G speeds on Koh Rong Samloem and 4G in SHV and most of the rest of Cambodia including PP and Siem Reap.purpledawn wrote:Hello Browne,

I used Smart when I first got to SHV and their speeds were shit. Seatel is pretty good in Phnom Penh.Alexandra wrote:How do they compare to Smart in Phnom Penh?
I believe that it was formerly called Excell in Cambodia and they've rebranded or sold the company and now claim to be a 4G only network.I went to the branch in SHV a couple of months ago. The staff all seem to be attractive looking. I'd happily fuck most of the females. Good hiring policy.
However you're wrong about sharing bandwidth. All of the companies share the same cell towers. Seatel probably just pays for more antennae per tower because that's why 4G is faster. More transmitters.

If internet is all you want then you can get the $50 USB stick. Or one of the lower end phones which do the same job with hotspot turned on.
we bought the mifi for $50 and charged $10 in it and the next day the connection was lost,
the data was finished in one day. on our complaint they said we used more or less 10gb
in one day. so we will never use this company again! dangerous! checking our data use it
appeared the data use was deducted also when I was sleeping at 4 in the morning.
no not a good word for seatel, avoid!!

being back to seatel to get back the money I paid for the mifi, no sir, we sell and not take
back. but the $10 data that disappeared in one day? no discussion possible.
so I would say "AVOID SEATEL"--"BE WARNED"

I'd recommend KingTel in PP for the same type service (4G). Been using it for maybe 6 months now and no complaints.
The big three (Smart, Metfone, Cellcard) all operate their own towers and coverage/speeds vary accordingly.brownexile wrote:However you're wrong about sharing bandwidth.
