Lol at that bestvpn link where they claim
"Cambodia is one of the least digitally penetrated countries of the world. Only about 4-5% of Cambodians have access to the internet due to rampant internet control, censorship and surveillance. A Cambodia VPN service is a great way for Khmers to get around stumbling blocks of the internet and enjoy true freedom of the World Wide Web."
Can't say I've noticed much control and censorship in my daily activities. Maybe I'm not visiting the "wrong" sites.
As for the OP question, BBC iplayer etc are getting wise to VPN use and blocking the exit point IP addresses. I can no longer access iPlayer using Getflix smart DNS or PIA VPN.

Dunno. I haven't used Spotify for about 5 years. I haven't a clue about which TV streaming services have the most/best/whatever content. I only know iPlayer is a problem because I tried to watch a bit of the Olympics coverage and found it no longer worked. Last time I used it successfully was about a year ago when I had visitors from the UK stay for a month.drwahwah wrote:Does Same apply to spotify - planning on signing up to premium account with credit card from UK or Australia - Any thoughts on which counytry is better contentwalkjivefly wrote:Lol at that bestvpn link where they claim

Spotify may be like Netflix (not 100% sure though) that the content will be based on the country you are accessing it from rather than the country where you purchased your subscription.
Netflix seemed to have beaten people switching regions on the fly but I was unaware that the BBC had.
To tell the truth, I've gone back to torrents for the sheer simplicity of it. The only reason why I still have getflix is because I got a lifetime account. Getflix also runs VPN services although I found them slow.
I use pia for my VPN services

Concerning netflix, they work for copyrights right while blocking vpn connections and limiting access to not america’s users. Here you can read more about their policy https://www.bestvpnrating.com/blog/has- ... s-prestige Nevertheless, there are many vpns still able to bypass restrictions (getflix does not work). Anyway, if you find any fact-supported info about such services, i’ll be very appreciated. The same may concern spotify and other foreign web resources. All we can do, is to try new vpns for accessing geo-restricted services, or share our experience with each other.
I was actually looking for something that will work with iPlayer. I found this and they claim there are VPNs that still work https://securethoughts.com/3-best-vpns-for-bbc-iplayer/ Anyone have any first hand experience? I don't really want to waste my money and sign up as I won't really use it for anything else.

Read up on recent reviews and sign up for a month to test it. Many even offer a trial period.CamCazza wrote:I was actually looking for something that will work with iPlayer. I use surf easy and it works with iplayer and prime. It isn't the quickest but it works fine.
It's cheaper to sign up for a year but I pay monthly as am expecting iplayer or prime to get wise and block some VPNs. Would be annoying to pay for a year and find out that it doesn't work after a few months.
Don't worry about Spotify. Their premium includes unrestricted access from any country.

Yes that seems to be the case. I signed up here last year using an Aussie credit card and it works well.Alexandra wrote:Don't worry about Spotify. Their premium includes unrestricted access from any country.

thanks I just signed up to Australian spotify using paypal linked to a Cambodian Credit card - I guess it worked as I signed up to paypal years ago in Australia. Would not allow me to sign up for UK spotify saying it looks as if you have an Australian credit cardyoungwill100 wrote:Yes that seems to be the case.
