Mifi Wanted
Gents – I need some advise from you techy guys.
My problem is, I live in a Borey which means I can only instal their very expensive in-house internet, or rely on my existing mobil connections. I have good mobile coverage (LTE) on one side of the house but not the other which I use more often. At the moment I'm using my Samsung mobile as a mobile hotpot, and then using my laptop WiFi to connect to the part of the house I use. This is ok and works well, but I have to set it all up again if I go upstairs as the mobile hotspot is limited to each floor.
So, can I buy a Mifi (I think that’s what its called) in Phnom Penh, and if so would he help me?

My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
Buy a proper router with a 4G SIM slot and leave it where the connection is good. Avoid portable routers, your signal will suck and it will be expensive to improve. If the connection to the router is bad in other parts of the house add another access point or two. Connect the access points to the first router with cable for best results.
The next pain will be to keep the SIM in the router paid. The Wing app and friends make that easier.
If everything fails, feed me beer.
Bless

Check out Kingtel. I'm in a similar situation to you and have used them for over a year.

Blimey. Well I followed the lead and left an online message with Kingtel this afternoon. I got called back by someone speaking excellent English, and when I explained by problem he said "no worries and I'll send an engineer round straightaway."
30 minutes later a Singaporean guy came round and when he saw the issue, he left a router with me so I could test it for a week and see if it worked well enough for me. No charge upfront, nothing signed, and if good I'll sign up for 6 months (US$25 PCM 10Mpbs) if not he'll have it back.
Don’t often get service like that here in Cambodia.

Yeah, I've experienced similarly (unexpected) excellent customer service with them.Garry Crabtree wrote:Blimey. Well I followed the lead and left an online message with Kingtel this afternoon. Gents. Thought I'd update you.
Last week Kingtel came round and installed a router and left it with me for a week to see if it got a good enough reception. It did, so they came back yesterday and installed another router to extend the range to cover the entire house and all floors.
It works a treat. I have to say that Kingtel have been surprisingly efficient, and installed the first router on a try before you buy basis. Then the second and only charged me when it was all sorted and we're happy.
Price - 6 months unlimited @ 10 Mbps = US 150 (7 months as one month's free)
Extra Router cost me another = US45 but that's because I live in a weird house surround by tower blocks.
All in all very happy and I'd recommend Kingtel as they're super fast, efficient, pretty cheap, and have excellent overall service.
