Anyone having trouble with OpenNet?
Anyone having trouble with OpenNet?
Seems to have been slow and unreliable lately. I started using cellcard and when I have to switch back to OpenNet for some reason it seems quite poor by comparison.
Anyone else have issues?

My speed is OK but it does seem to be dropping and reconnecting quite a lot in the last few days
Last night was pretty bad.
Fortunately cellcard's big love is good enough to take up the slack. It's a great offer.

I got 6m fixed line with Cooltel now, but i wonder how long Cellcard's $8 for 80GB would last you using a laptop and 4g dongle?

Good enough for a couple hours streaming each day plus all the other stuff. No need for a dongle, just turn on the hotspot function.
Maybe I misunderstand the problem, but for example, just getting the Inbox button on Facebook to show your messages takes annoyingly long on OpenNet.
Cellcard BigLove is unlimited GB I think? At $1 per week its pretty reasonable! ; ) Usually I just leave my phone plugged in and tether my computer that way- although I believe that has zapped my phone battery.

Where did you get the idea they'd do unlimited internet for $1? My son goes through about 4GB on YouTube in about an hour..

Not sure Youtube uses that many GB's does it?
I dunno but i reckon you'd have trouble using 3 GB for 6hrs or so on Youtube if you checked on the status of your connection and added the sent and received bytes together and converted to GB's??
A 4G dongle sounds better than a phone though? $45-$60

My OpenNet connection has been terrible for a couple of months, drops in and out, very unreliable between 6pm - 8pm.
Fortunately the contract expires in February so I'll dump them and swap to a better company. Any recommendations?

I've hooked up with Cootel 6m, but only had it a couple of weeks.
One thing i've noticed is that i can't access ''the other forum'', and another website on it, but no problem when connected with Cellcard 4G.
Wos that about then?

Playboy manoeuvring behind the scenes. Cootel should get a free banner on 440 soon.spitthedog wrote:One thing i've noticed is that i can't access ''the other forum'', but no problem when connected with Cellcard 4G.

Yeah, maybe you're right. I don't watch many videos, and I have never gone over the limit (if there is one) with BigLove. On the signs it says it's the equivalent of $250, but I'm not sure what that would translate into, in terms of GB.dv8inpp wrote:Where did you get the idea they'd do unlimited internet for $1? Anyway, in my case Cellcard is $4 per month for internet. Actually, it seems less now because yesterday when it deducted from my account it took only $0.70.
Plus free calls and SMS on Cellcard.
I assume you mean Cootel 6 mbps, which according to their website is $12 per month? Same price as OpenNet. Strange about certain websites being blocked. Do you know where nationality of the company? Chinese?spitthedog wrote:I've hooked up with Cootel 6m, but only had it a couple of weeks.

To OpenNet's credit, their service has been good- whenever I had a problem with the connection they sent someone over to fix it quickly. They also send an SMS and call every month to remind me that the payment is due.
It's just fairly slow sometimes, even for low bandwidth activities, and frequently drops the connection which I then have to manually re-connect. Tedious and interrupts the workflow.
