Xiaomi MI A2 ( Global Androidone phone) or Xiaomi Pocophone F1. They can't be beaten for the price.

Hakse or Nika phone shops. What you'll be able to get a discount on will depend on what they're trying to shift (usually phones that have just had a newer version released).

I recently did a lot of research into a new android phone for myself and got the Xiaomi Mi A1, then I flashed custom stuff on it to improve the camera and audio. Good value, so happy.
Here's a simple breakdown for you:
+ any of the models ending in "pro" are good choices
+ the pocofone f1 has extremely strong hardware for a low price
+ xiaomi mi a2 and a2 lite have stock android and are in the "android one" program
All of the phones on the khmer website black cat posted are going to have xiaomi's MIUI android, not stock, except for the a2 and a2 lite. Most xiaomi phones have a healthy modding community so there will probably be an opportunity to change from miui to something else if you happen to not like it, but I'm sure you'd get used to it and like it.

Totally agree, thus I recommended both the A2 and Pocophone. My MI A1 has been fantastic for the price. Never mind that, this was pretty close to a flagship phone for half the price of others and pure Android last year. I still really don't feel the need to upgrade it to be honest. MI A1 is also guaranteed to get the Android Pie update shortly along with a few very select phones.shehasnoballs wrote:I recently did a lot of research into a new android phone for myself and got the Xiaomi Mi A1, then I flashed custom stuff on it to improve the camera and audio. I think I'll still upgrade to the MI A2 over the MI 8 or Pocophone but they are all good.
The Pocophone f1 & Xiaomi MI A2 appear to be great phones (to pick up in Phnom Penh) for the money I am willing to spend. However I live in New York City. I will not get 4G capability using a at&t or T-Mobile card on these devices.
4G: 700/1700MHz (bands 4, 17) at&t
4G: 1700/2100 band4 T-Mobile.

I remember having the same concerns when I bought my A1 before I went back for a trip to Canada last year. I can confirm the A1 does work on band 4. I checked it out and mine was switching between band 4 most of the time and band 5.tomx2 wrote:The Pocophone f1 & Xiaomi MI A2 appear to be great phones (to pick up in Phnom Penh) for the money I am willing to spend. It seems as if the global androidone version of MI A1 has band 4 capability but the MI 5x (the exact same phone but the Chinese MI UI model that came out first) doesn't have it. they probably just copied the same literature because the booklet that came with my phone also doesn't mention band 4 for but it worked. It was blazing fast on Band 4 LTE as you can see.
