I was thinking the disparity would mainly be among the middle-aged or elderly. I'm not sure that there's a huge gender imbalance in those going abroad to work, women make up perhaps 40%.
At least; probably more like 60%. In Thailand, Vietnam and China, most white collar office workers are female - in many companies males are a rare species, except in the case of managers or IT support staff. I don't think it's much different in Cambodia. Cambodian women even work on construction sites, something I haven't seen in the west, despite all the cries about feminism and "gender equality".
