Few Khmer women can toss a foreigner over a railing. Also, if you were a Khmer woman (who may or may not be using or possessing drugs) and your boyfriend/trick jumped to his death in Sorya Mall (perhaps because he's angry at you) would you stick around the scene to explain to the police, the press, and the entire world that you're a hooker and he's your trick and you guys were just smoking meth an hour ago and by the way he owes you $20 so if they can fish that out of his pockets and give it to you that would be great?

Or would you just leave?

Like BadBoy said. A lot of words I don't understand and don't have my dictionary with me but my understanding is a witness said he was in the arcade with a younger woman, came out, smoked a cigarette, then the witness heard a bang and he had gone over the edge.

The police said it could be murder but what the witness said doesn't suggest that.

Maybe he blew his life's savings trying to win her a Angry Birds keychain from one of those claw machines. I know that feeling.

You can go through those coins a lot faster than you think.

It's also possible he was just playing around trying to impress her and fell, but I'm seriously doubting he was murdered...

Murder suspected In Israeli’s death

Byline – Srey Na Koh

Wednesday, 21st November, 2012, 13:34 H

[1 photo]

Phnom Penh – An Israeli citizen wearing combat color pants cropped at the knees, a red sleeveless t-shirt and a (disposable dust/germ) mask over his mouth ពាក់ម៉ាស់, plunged to his death from the fifth floor of the Soriya Mall, located in Psar Tmey 1 Commune, Daun Penh District. The incident occurred at 6:30 of the evening of the 20th of November, 2012, causing pandemonium and prompting the general public to immediately surmise that this was a case of murder.

A police official stated that the dead foreigner has been identified as ‘TENNE BINJAMIN,’ a 57 year old male Israeli national. His was holding a passport, #10919353, with a 28 July, 2017 expiry date. According to the statement of a female witness who did not wish to be identified, she had first seen the male victim riding up the escalator in the company of a Cambodian woman. She appeared to be about 30 years of age, with a soybean (probably buff colored or sallow hued) complexion សំបុរសណ្តែកបាយ and shoulder length hair. She was wearing blue colored blue jeans ខោខូវប៊ូយពណ៌ខៀវ and a black long sleeved t-shirt. Once they had arrived at the fifth floor, the pair was seen standing about watching the children as they skated.

A little later, the male foreigner had come up and was seen standing alone smoking a cigarette. Suddenly, without understanding what was happening, the female witness heard a noise like an object falling to the ground floor below. Immediately, she went to take a look. Only then did she draw a connection to the foreigner who had been standing and smoking a cigarette. He had fallen to his death below. As for his female companion, she had disappeared without a trace.

Strange place to commit a murder. A busy shopping mall in the middle of the day.

Surely if your other half was going to top you then he/she could find somewhere a bit more secluded.

Witness says he was standing there smoking ALONE. How did the police draw a conclusion to MURDER? I'm guessing more money to be made if they find her?

If I was writing a book, the unfortunate death of an Israeli citizen in a busy shopping mall would be linked to the presence of the US President in town at the time for a major international summit.

And the shadowy lady in black who inexplicably vanished from the scene would have close connections to Mossad.

Koh Santapheap is the Khmer equivalent of a tabloid newspaper like the Sun in the UK. They like attention grabbing headlines, then fail to backup the headline in the article. Never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn!

Conspiracy theories? I'm not biting.

99% percentage possibility he was just any old random prowler in late middle age who'd spunked up all his money/been unlucky in what he thought was love/bought into his own bullshit and ended up tossing himself over the escalator edge while in a state of extreme pique.

His nationality is a total red herring as 'his type' come from plenty of countries and if this had been Pattaya, nobody would have blinked. They've seen it all before over there.

I think that sums it up perfectly.
“A nation is jolted by a revealing dress at a festival but is not infuriated by a million children sleeping rough and scavenging in trash bins for food,” Egyptian opinion writer Khaled Montaser
