-2 Nigerians, a Filipino, and a Khmer were arrested by ant-narcotics police of the Ministry of the Interior in relation to the importation of more than 2 kilograms of cocaine.
-The suspects were identified as:
1. ‘Micheal Sunshines,’ a 31 year old Nigerian male.
2. ‘Emmanuel Thankgod,’ a 33 year old Nigerian male.
3. Meng See Nuon, a 30 year old Cambodian woman, House 378, Street 163, Psar Darm Tgou Commune, Chomcar Mon District.
4. ‘Macoy Mavill Villamor,’ a 42 year old Filipino woman.
-A police source stated that a Filipino woman had arrived at the Phnom Penh International Airport on the 12th of February, 2014, where she was arrested after she was found with 34 បំពង់ (cylinders, tubes) of cocaine.
-Police stated that the woman had arrived in Cambodia from Singapore after starting out from Brazil. She told police that was only delivering a suitcase, without knowing the contents, to a Nigerian in Phnom Penh, in return for which she was to be paid $2,500 US dollars.
-Police stated that the arrest of the Filipino woman had led to the arrest of 2 Nigerians and a Khmer woman in Phnom Penh.
- On the 16th of February, 2014, the suspects were brought in to court to determine what charges they would face before an investigating judge, who would decide whether or not to grant them bail before their upcoming trial date (supply a better translation).
