Maybe not, because unlike those other places something has actually been done with GSM, the ones I mentioned are all empty lots.

My nomination is no puny Okhna. This bloke died a Samdech. Fmr Deputy PM Sok An.
I am not sure if we can give him the absolutely 100% clean bill - he was at the front-centre in many of Cambodia's foreign relationships including major commercial and development arrangements, and he died a very very rich man.
Nevertheless this huge brained, huge hearted giant genuinely put all his talents into reestablishing Cambodia as an viable independent nation. The "minister with many arms", he seemed to be across everything - except the petty grasping politics. A hardcore realist and pragmatist who tried to build the country on sound scientific and economic principles.
Three things I particularly give him top scores for;
- Science and higher education. He was always going to be "up against it" in trying to establish genuine higher education in this mystical thinking kingdom, but there is in fact a good framework in place thanks to this man.
- Cultural heritage. As president of the Apsara authority he was guiding force in ensuring that Angkor Wat became a World Heritage site, not a degraded disneyland. Also teamed up with UNESCO in adding authentic science and cultural principles in managing other aspects of Cambodia's heritage. Not least, Biosphere Reserve status for the Tonle Sap.
- Naturalist. (my fave)If you ever bought an orchid in cambodia there is a good chance it came from his farm. His lasting legacy in this area is the recently opened "Sok An Phnom Kulen Centre for Orchid Research and Conservation".
For those that didn't know, Cambodia is not just the asian hotspot for otters, it is also the hot spot for wild orchids. There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of species out there still undescribed by science.
Hail to the giant.

He might have done some good work but his humble appearance hid a vast wealth. Was his family just good at business?
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

No we can not give him a 100% clean bill. Far, from it.
He was not a bad guy through, he did genuinely care about improving his country.
Unlike a lot of his extended family who were constantly badgering him and making demands upon him to grant them the keys to the kingdom.

I'd have to nominate a selfless, hard-working, honest and sincere man: our very own current PM - Mr. HE.
Just look at his Nguyen-Nguyen strategy and that movie about himself that he made. Top bloke.

How many of those 5 years did he spend “sick” in the hospital conveniently located right next door to his 666 Devil Borey construction?Bong Burgundy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 9:05 amReleased on bail by the Court of Appeal, less than 5 years into a life sentence.
