And gavinmac will hire on as a contract agent with HR to screen potential staff for the on premise restaurant/bar. Should end up being a 'dude'-free zone.

RobW would be the washroom attendant.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.

Update, from PPP http://www.phnompenhpost.com/real-estat ... t-doubtful
Disclaimer:Reading Khminglish can cause a persistent and seriously disturbed perception of reality...
Interesting article on dap http://www.dap-news.com/2011-06-14-02-3 ... 32-53.html
this evening titled 'Don't yet believe that there will be a 133 story building appearing in Phnom Penh'.
Author starts of by praising Long Dimanche but then goes on to doubt the possibility of Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower World Trade Center enter being built. He gives a variety of reasons - land is yet to be vacated, ground breaking or construction hasn't stated, official approval not yet signed. Then talks about Rust Tower 42, and the problems with Camko City.
The journalist's strongest evidence/indication of the unlikeilhood of this project ever getting too far off the ground is the fact that apparently Thai Boon Roong own the land on which the stalled Booyoung Town project is located. (http://m.phnompenhpost.com/real-estate/ ... -town-back)
(He also says that he's heard unofficially that Teng Bunma is recovering from illness in his daughters house in Bangkok.)

Building 500 meter tall towers in one of the world's poorest countries and one with an appalling record for land grabbing: This is wrong on so many levels.
The Booyoung article mentions the Mekong Parrot project, what the hell was that? I will be the Strata Manager for the Dreamland project, I am as qualified as anyone in Australia now with all my research. Its the best scam, it is a totally unregulated industry and no strata company, manager or employee is required to have any qualifications. There are companies managing 20 billion dollars worth of real estate with no regulation, its amazing.
I have been lobbying for months now in our strata complex and I have called an emergency general meeting in five weeks where I should be voted in as chairman and treasurer and we will start upgrading our complex and spending the 200K we have in the sinking fund. I have performed a coup and sacked several members of the committee, its great. If I was younger and had more energy I would found my own strata management company, its one of the fastest growing segments of the RE industry with hundreds of apartment towers going up around Australia.
I don't know how these Cambodian apartment blocks will function with no strata law, insurance, security, power to common areas, maintenance and repairs have to be looked after, funded by the owners. Has any strata law been mooted yet? Andy knows what happens when apartment blocks have no income.

Well lets hope it does better than Vattanac Tower which is hemorrhaging cash at a phenomenal rate.

Exactly what I thought, the guy feeling his death nearing must have felt so megalomaniac that he hired architects to design his legacy monument.raendi wrote:Rama wrote:(He also says that he's heard unofficially that Teng Bunma is recovering from illness in his daughters house in Bangkok.)

What a ridiculous article. There haven't been developments of this size because giant companies have yet to appear in Cambodia but no problem because once this development is done giant companies will set up their offices here. WTF? And they haven't really thought about sales because they are too busy trying to make the scheme successful.gavinmac wrote:Construction slated to start soon.

I can imagine the rationale down in the old dead tycoon's gaffe as his kids sit around discussing whether they should push on with the project...
"It's not about the money. It's about dad. It'll be a legacy for him. Make a statement. Kinda like "look at me, I may be dead but I can still build buildings and stuff". Yeah, he's gonna love it when it's done. We can have an atrium and everything. Put in some of them nice rubber plants. He liked them. Yeah, be classy. Next to the toilets. Have some pot pourri to disguise the smell. And a conference room. Big enough to hold five farsand peepul. Magic. He'd have fucking loved it. Sat there in the old Armani holding forth and what not... " etc ad nauseam.
