But the government shut it down after someone invested 110 million and I want to know why did they shut it down. They didn't have any problem selling it their were loads of people like Gavin Mac Cambodians included who bought it just because it was Australian.
But does anybody know why the government just decided to close it against the will of the investor while it was profitable?

Abattoir takes time off to beef up
LN Meat Supplies, Cambodia’s biggest cattle feedlot and abattoir, has momentarily suspended operations to restructure the business, alleging difficulties dealing with the kingdom’s “uncertain” tax system.
He added that MAFF has forwarded the company’s request to slash taxes on imported cattle to MEF.
“We have intervened and sent the request to the Ministry of Economy to help SLN, as this abattoir is the biggest meat producer in the country,” Mr Sovann said.
SLN is the largest company in the Asean region producing Australian beef and it has already built a factory costing more than $30 million in Preah Sihanouk province. http://www.khmertimeskh.com/5094472/aba ... -off-beef/

They haven't opened back up have they. The government did shut it down I know that for a hundred percent. Oh well I wonder why

It's the 2 legged Australian cattle need to be slaughted. They buggered up Bali.
It is sort of open with a skeleton staff and a few cattle so the maintenance is I guess being performed. I met one of the managers there who claimed it was one of the best abattoirs he had worked in over 40 years in Oz and NZ and it had state of art tech. The rumours were more beef was going out the back gate than the front and the Khmer bosses had no idea how to run it and ran out of operating capital. Their 'outlet' in PP was usually a bunch of drunk cyclos outside playing cards and what appeared to be the manager looked blankly when I asked if I could buy some meat - "Hut Min"
I went out and took some pics recently and spoke to the head of security who said they were awaiting a new investor to sign off - I note on the front gates there are Japanese, Khmer and Chinese flags flying. Did you know they have built a fancy hotel with a waterfall and big ponds for management and guests?
