http://www.khmertimeskh.com/5090380/pol ... attambang/Five men were arrested yesterday in Battambang province after numerous exotic animals were found in two Virak Buntham Company buses.
The vehicles were en route from Poipet to Phnom Penh.
A search by military police and forestry administration officers revealed the buses were carrying turtles, cobras, snakes, sea turtles, and whistling ducks. Apart from the ducks, most animals were alive.
In total, more than 400 kilograms of animals were seized. The report said of the five men arrested, two were drivers, two were assistants, and one was the owner of the illegal wildlife.
The drivers and owner said this kind of trip, carrying exotic wildlife, was common for them. They mentioned having completed similar trips from Poipet to Phnom Penh at least twenty times already.
The forestry administration will investigate the matter and take relevant action

"No big deal, we do this illegal activity every day, don't worry." That's like getting pulled over drunk and saying "what officer? I drive home drunk every night."The drivers and owner said this kind of trip, carrying exotic wildlife, was common for them.
