Nice muckraking. The article could use more boob photos.

“Cambodia party resort Kampot” is perhaps a little overkill. There are clearly backpacker party spots, but it’s also the place a lot of Phnom Penh expats go to just relax and enjoy nature for the weekend.gavinmac wrote:

Yes, they are consumed regularly, and are found in lakes, rivers and ponds in Cambodia. The fish is fine to eat, but its the intestine and other innards that are toxic, and can kill if consumed.Lucky Lucan wrote:I've only heard of people unintentionally dying because they didn't realize they were toxic. I am sooooo very sorry if you can't understand or appreciate my sarcastic facetiousness.

The local kids catch puffer fish all the time and torture to death as something to do. Never heard of any being eaten though.

Yes, CO crossed my mind too, but AC's don't produce CO. Of course, if a generator was running close to the AC inlet, or a car with a running engine for an extensive period of time, it's an option since the CO from that engine would be building up in the room. . Their skin would look abnormally red in that case, but I'm not sure the 'competent' authorities would know and / or notice that.jackrossi wrote:what malfunction do you have in mind that, within the AC system, could make it release CO?violet wrote:Any carbon monoxide associated with air con?
The only way you could suffocate from an AC i believe is from inhaling the vaporized lubricant mixed with the cooling gas which can coat your lung and cause suffocation, but to do that you would have to really have your head right under the AC unit as it fails and even if that is the case it would be very unlikely.
There have been deaths, and suspected deaths, in Cambodia attributed to puffer fish.pedros wrote:DF wrote:Yes, they are consumed regularly, and are found in lakes, rivers and ponds in Cambodia. OK so according to Khmer440 experts it was either puffer fish or air conditioning or other food poisoning or stomach pills or booze or heroin or valium or suicide or insects or insecticide or tramadol or hydrogen sulfide.
