So $242 for a night (before discounts are offered on Agoda, booking, etc?). That is pretty much exactly what a room at the Sofitel is, based on a 10 second search on google for one random night in March.gavinmac wrote:Rates starting at $204 per night plus 19% tax and service charge for the 538 square foot basic room.
Seems a lot for PP, but there are many hotels in Siem Reap that are full at a higher price point than that.
But how much are the drinks and what's the happy hour? That's what really matters.

Let us pour you a chilled glass of your favorite drink while you sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of the bustling Phnom Penh. Here at Sora, 37 levels up, we offer more than just great drinks - we also have one of the best vantage points in town. Don't believe us? Come and see for yourself on February 12!

I checked out the SkyBar last night, finally.
I missed the sunset, not arriving until about 11 I think. As far as rooftop bars go, there is no comparison in Phnom Penh to the Rosewood now. It is on the 37th floor, which really feels like you're towering over the city. The entire outdoor lounge area is very well decorated, with plants and private tables, and of course the bar in the middle of the space.
Prices were high, no doubt. But it really feels like you are in Bangkok up there.
It won't be a nightly go-to place, but I think it will be great for people visiting, and when you're in the mood for something a little different.

There is quite some irony in the name you have to admit.

Yes, I went again on Friday. I have to admit, I do like it.Marinaris wrote:Sora
And, prices aren't that outrageous. You can get a pint of beer (I think it's Kingdom) for $5, or half pint for $3. I was at Chinese House and they charge $3 for a glass of Tiger, which can't be bigger than 330 ml.
