OK, as a German: 30 kmh x 9 beers = speed of light. Especially when you try to not piss on your foot. Sitting down not an option?ricecakes wrote:You Germans don't do random guesstimates do you ?Hanno wrote: 100 kmh? No train in Vietnam comes even close to that.
How the fuck would I know how fast i was going ! . All I know is the train was rocking like a bastard and it was all I could do to NOT piss all over my foot !!

I doubt that toilets in Vietnamese trains come with toilet seats, but I might not be up to date.

Sorry to disagree It depends on the train as to whether or not the toilet has a seat!
Squat toilets are still prevalent on the older trains.

Whilst taking a piss on those ancient carriages in Thailand, i always found that looking through the shitter hole and watching the track bed go by on the ground with the beat of the train wheels hitting the tracks to be quite mesmerizing. Well until you got shuddered around and had to brace yourself on the walls that is.

Must be better than the Yangon-Bagan sleeper train. We were literally flying up off the beds on that train and it sounded like a bomb was going off every few seconds in the carriage behind where it connected.
It got so bad that i rigged up a hammock in the carriage to see if it would be any better but the hammock started swinging to the point where i thought i could be thrown through the window. Got battered when you went for a piss.
We were asked to give the train workers some rope to secure the bikes in the carriage. That (new, good quality rope) went missing as the train was about to leave, so they asked us for some more.
Cycling was so much easier.

Wild shit, experienced that same thing on a train in Sri Lanka, suspension shot and the walk-through where the carriages connect was like a giant mouse trap but with steel plates slamming together- fuck, what a sight and what a racket!spitthedog wrote:Must be better than the Yangon-Bagan sleeper train. My girlfriend couldnt stop laughing seeing me swaying like fuck in the hammock. We both had the giigles big time. "You so stoopid. Who puts a hammock up in the train?"Then bwahahahaha!
