Largest group of Cambodians to be deported Mon.
46 more scheduled for deportation on Monday Dec.17 From N.Y.Times https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/worl ... dians.html
Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis

How dare he smite this country in such a cruel way.PHNOM PENH, Cambodia — It was fish for breakfast and fish for lunch and fish for dinner.
“I hate fish,” Khan Hin said.
What Mr. Hin wanted was a burger. Maybe a bowl of Cap’n Crunch. Or some Tater Tots. “I’m feisty,” he said, “for my Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.”
Mr. Hin’s palate is American. His vernacular, slang from the streets of Stockton, Calif., is American....
That’s how Mr. Hin ended up on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, in the house of a family friend he couldn’t understand, eating fish three meals a day.
“It was rats, pigs, babies all over the place,” he said. “It was the ghetto but badder. This ain’t home. America’s my home.”
He should accept their hospitality graciously or just go and hit up Krispy Kreme with his 500 Riel.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

These articles are all predictable in that they never mention the deportee's entire criminal record. They only mention a single conviction in an effort to make the deportee look sympathetic.
That article says that Khan Hin was arrested for auto theft at age 18 and years later ICE came for him. It doesn't mention that while he was on parole, and in his twenties he was caught in possession of a stolen handgun.

Should have been deported for the word 'Badder'.
He does sound very ungrateful to the family that have put him up.
This couldn’t possibly be a New York Times article, I read it from staff writer Charles Dunst at Cambodia News English.Sonic1 wrote:46 more scheduled for deportation on Monday Dec.17 From N.Y.Times https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/worl ... dians.html

Actually it was Cambodia Daily https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/doze ... ay-143397/
Bit of a difference. The Daily is citing the New York Times as the author, only posting a few paragraphs, and then directly you to the source for the full article. And they might even have a wire agreement with them, the AP, Reuter’s, etc.Alexandra wrote:Actually it was Cambodia Daily https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/doze ... ay-143397/
CNE or whatever the hell it is is straight up plagerizing. It appears to have started by translating local news (however poorly), but half their posts now are just copy and pastes from English Language sources already.
Thanks to tRump be ready to be asked to leave or EOS refused if you are american

"cambodians use pardons to beat Trump's deportation." From NBC https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigr ... rs-n945996

So Gavin, how does Roeuth An‘s record look?Sonic1 wrote:"cambodians use pardons to beat Trump's deportation." From NBC https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigr ... rs-n945996
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deportati ... ted_StatesU.S. government data shows that deportation of Cambodian-Americans averaged 41 per year from 2001 through 2010, increasing to 97 in 2011 and 93 in 2012.
Nationwide, nearly 1,900 Cambodian-Americans have final orders of removal, meaning they can be deported from the United States at any time, while more than 669 are in removal proceedings
Trump has a long way to go to catch up with the beloved humanitarian Obama in terms of deportations of criminal Cambodians during much of the Obama White House era. And the 1,900 "Cambodian-Amercians" mentioned were all placed on that deportation-eligible list years before Trump was in office.
In fact, deportations under Trump have been half of what they were under the enchanted one for all nationalities. Even the hysterical anti-Trump Bloomberg media outlet had to admit that.
https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/artic ... -obama-didIt's a testament to President Donald Trump's capacity for malice that his deportation policy has terrified more while deporting less. Arrests by his administration's Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2017 were about half what they were during President Barack Obama's peak years, 2010 and 2011, according to a new report by the Migration Policy Institute.
