Wanted: baby furniture - crib, high chair etc..
Hello,
We just moved to Phnom Penh with our 10 month old and we already miss our cheap Ikea furniture. Anyone have a lead on some inexpensive baby furniture, namely a high chair and crib but heck even a stroller and whatever else it is that babies need these days? I've sort of made the rounds of the various baby shops and was wondering if I missed a good deal.
Thanks,
Paul

You can either buy new in a shop or pay the same price second hand stuff sold on the CPN yahoo group.

Disagree, take your time and you'll find high quality and cheap things on CPN ...
Yeah, I've looked at the cpn, not much of practical use - though you never know.
Anyway, turns out that there're are a bunch of shops on Sothearos that sell wooden furniture. Scored a high-chair and will go back to buy a crib next week.

I disagree.Bernhardow wrote:Disagree, take your time and you'll find high quality and cheap things on CPN ...
By CPN offers I tested a few cars and went to a lot of garage sales & moving apartments to buy stuff, any kind of stuff, TV, microwave, fridge, green plants, furniture's and baby stuff for months. IT SUCKS.
People are selling crap at retail price.
And in one year you can sell it on CPN and make a decent profit.paully wrote:Yeah, I've looked at the cpn, not much of practical use - though you never know.

I may agree and would never buy a car there ... but as I said you need time and some good "Kid-Stuff" offers ... will pop up.OSS 117 wrote:I disagree.Bernhardow wrote:Disagree, take your time and you'll find high quality and cheap things on CPN ...

Farlin is also my choice, if I'm in a hurry or one of the other Shops, on Mao Tse Tung but its Crap most of the time on very high pricing.

Anybody have any suggestions of other places to consider? Looking at crib, stroller, etc.

City Mall has some good quality baby stuff like prams, cribs, high chairs, etc. quite pricey though. There's also a French named baby shop (sorry can't remember the name) somewhere along Monivong that has very high quality stuff, but very expensive.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.
I ended up spending nearly $200 on a crib. Hoping it has some special features such as transforming into a helicopter for easy commute to the office.PSD_Kiwi wrote:City Mall has some good quality baby stuff like prams, cribs, high chairs, etc. quite pricey though. I have a stroller, bloody useless in PP! We used it once and furthermore only on a 2 month stay in Bangkok. There it was actually quite useful. Not sure my wife want's it gone. The baby backpack carrier is more useful, don't know how to call it lol. You carry her close to your chest.
As bed we bought the thing that can be used both as bed and crib. Saved some space. It did include a night-light and some music. My daughter slept well in it. Now she has a bad-ass king-size bed, hard to find her between all her toy animals.
