Yes, it's certainly the correct side for drunk drivers who want to lean out and vomit on the sidewalks in Cambodia.the estuary wrote:BTW Japan has the steering wheel on the correct side.

Yawn....
Duty depends on engine capacity and age of vehicle.
Rotaries are small capacity arent they, maybe cheap to import.
But parts would all have to be imported and one risks paying ridiculous duties and management fees to courier companies.
And then there is the problem of finding areal mechanic.
Luckily there is one now, kiwi keith at hann automotive on 271.
I have always wanted to import an MX5-small capacity engine and a lovely car.
I will investigate.
Still regret not importing the sixties mustang convertible all those years ago.25 k for a nice one in the US plus about 10k for shipping and duty.
Still worth 50k in australia.
I saw the nice late model stang this morning, red with white stripes.
Latest model in the US fully loaded only 30k.
Car prices here are absurd.

Well depends what you call a small engine. The rotary i had in the UK was a 2.6 twin turbo FD3S. 650cc per chamber and have 2 chambers. For road tax it was classed as a 1.3 engine, for insurance and on the log book it was logged as a 2.6.
Ive heard that there are a couple of FD3S rx-7 in PP driven by some khmers.
What about importing say Moto x bike's from Japan? Propper ones Yz 250, Yz F 250 etc. Or is there a shop what sells such bike in PP, but dont want somthing whats been rented out for a year or so and tired. Which i have seen in PP.

The thought of importing second hand motors from Japan just after a major sunami destroyed large numbers of vehicles makes me wonder how reliable they would bee in the long term.
For the mechanically inclined, are motors handed? Cars are but are the motors?

Is Fukushima the motorbike producing centre or spare parts producing centre of Japan?

The OP does say motors, not motorcars. And DV8inPP's warning about sea water damage is very relevant.
All said and done, the OP hasn't answered any questions since the 12-day old original post, so I'd say forget about it.
