400 watt panel and 200 amp battery is only good to run the phone charger certainly not worth $1000.

Well there's some truth in that, in the sense that he isn't likely to post it a second time

barang solar?
do we get a different sun than the khmer do?
based on that price, and why my khmer relatives paid for their system... i'll stick with khmersolar i think.

i have set up all my boats to run on solar, the solar replaces the noisy fuel burning generators.for anyone off the grid its certainly the way to go.the boats still use diesel engines for the main engines but for all other power,ie fans, gps, lights,tv dvd water pumps ect, than solar is king.the large tara boat has 5 panels,4x 100ah batteries, this unit can run 2x water pumps, fans x8
72 LED lights and tv,dvd and also we use any excess power to charge up batteries (for free) to families on the floating village.the cost including installation was about $2200,it was supplied by a leading sloar company in pp but was not happy with them leaving the job half finished.i did supply all the wiring and LED lights fittings, fans pumps ect myself.
another boat i set up recently runs 28 LED lights,2x fans, gps, dvd and phone chargers.that cost me about $1000 and includes 2x solar panels and a 100AH battery.another company in pp installed this but again was not happy with the instalation .these boats only run the power when needed so its not like u are running the full power output all the time..,anyway if u have trouble selling it i will buy if the price was right as i have another boat being built now.

Thank you Tarariverboat for the first intelligent reply.
But first to all you nay-sayers let me enlighten you a little. This system could power 40 phone chargers 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The price I am asking would cost $1750 MINIMUM at any PP Solar company.
Barang Solar has been operating in remote areas installing systems at wholesale cost plus 10% Such capitalism!
So go ahead and sit at home waiting for your next opportunity to shove a stick in someone's spokes. But you might do better to go out and get a life.
To Tarariverboat there is on error in my initial post. It should read '2 - 200 Amp/hour deep cycle batteries' not one. One is a gel battery and the other is lead acid. It includes several meters of expensive exterior and interior wire. I am not willing to sell it for less than $1000. I am closing my business and if no one can appreciate the value of this system I will give it away to poor people as I have in the past.

don't mix gel and lead acid batteries in any solar system.
It would be entertaining to see the math you are using for your stupendous claims.

The rule of thumb when purchasing solar panels ( 10yrs ago or so, last i looked ) was around $1./watt.
Never heard of a solar panel tax sticker, but have no idea. I have had items bypass customs by being delivered by bus drivers for a small fee.
