Masticating juicers produce the highest quality juice with the least amount of foam but are usually much slower than centrifugal ones. In part this is because most are horizontal machines and have very narrow feed chutes so you spend a lot of time chopping fruit and veg before you can juice them. This Kuvings machine has a chute wide enough for whole apples which means almost no chopping and makes it much faster than other masticators. The slow speed motor heats the juice less than a centrifugal machine and introduces less air so the juice tastes better and keeps longer. It is much quieter than a centrifugal juicer. It also produces about 10% more juice than the Ashoo above and drier pulp. Cleaning is pretty easy. If you line the pulp collector with a plastic bag there are 8 parts to clean.
You need to be pretty hardcore about your juicing for this one. It's not cheap at
$500 but if you want the maximum quantity and highest quality juice for the least effort this is the one to get.
PM me with questions. I'm a block from the National Museum if you want to see/try either machine.
