FREEBIRD - FOR SALE
FREEBIRD - FOR SALE
The Freebird Bar & Grill is For Sale. I am involved as I am a friend of the owner / agent / middle man or what ever you want to call it.
Serious enquiries only, too much details to post at present but here are the basic facts. My man Sam will put up the rest on Monday.
Price: 90K Negotiable for the lot - fully operational successful business.
Lease 10 years at $1400 per month for the first 5 years and the remaining $1540
Reason for sale: family reasons, owner reluctant to part with it as it has been his baby for nearly 10 years.

Damn, hope it finds a good owner who continues with the quality of the current offerings.

I like Freebird but it rarely seems busy to me, I think it's hard to cover $1,400 a month in rent selling $5 breakfasts. I have no idea if it sells a lot of alcohol at night.
One area for improvement is that Freebird has virtually no online presence, I don't think it even has a Facebook page.

I used to eat breakfast there regularly, then the Lone Star opened and got my business .

I agree. One the one or two occasions I've been there, I've liked the food and the service, but it's deathly quiet and does little to entice you in again and again. The location doesn't help either. 240 - while a nice street - doesn't strike me as an evening destination. You have to make a conscious decision to go there for a beer and it rarely springs to mind when i'm thinking of where to go.

I have to say that I rarely think of going there as well. The place also looks a bit sterile, but the food is definitely good. I find the burgers to be amongst the best in town. Staff are also some of the best trained. It's just not a "hangout" place, more of an eat and leave place. Definitely an area to improve on. The place is rarely packed at night, but I've never been the only customer.

GavinMac as a man of leisure, I suspect you are going there at the wrong times, it's popular with working expats as a breakfast/lunch spot. It has a good turnover of customers 7.30-9 and is usually packed on weekdays between 12-1.30. I would be very surprised if the place isn't profitable.
It hit a bit of a rough patch recently as it seemed like all the long serving day shift staff left at the same time (not sure if quit or fired). Since then the place hasn't been as consistent and consistency was always what I liked about the place.
Everyday they are out of something (tea/coffee/juice etc), they've also taken to doing weird shit like vinegar/watering down the ketchup to the point it's like a tomato juice.

It used to be my favourite bar when Paul Guymon owned it. When Paul sold it, the new owners wanted a different clientele and style, and turned it from a rather madcap relaxed drinking fuelled venue, into a pro America hamburger joint. That's not a bad thing but not my mug of Anchor.
My posts are just jokes, maybe they're rude, offensive, and politically incorrect. They're not my opinion, viewpoint, idea, or judgement, but they're just fucking jokes so lighten up.
It was jammers last week when I walked in with Red Dragon, so much so that we left. Never met the 'new' owner over all the years. For me, Lonestar wins in terms of the food and the staff, Freebird for the smoke free air conditioned environment.
