I was tempted a while back, but given that they cost the same or more than imported Vlasics, I decided against it. I eat pickles like they're chips, meaning one is never enough, so I figured it would be financially foolish. Still, I loved the peanuts back when he carried them and given the good reviews, I think I should try them.

How much are the imported Vlasics? I bet Patcan's are still cheaper at 1kilo per container and at rate, I like supporting a local guy doing something good. Give them a try.LexusSchmexus wrote:I was tempted a while back, but given that they cost the same or more than imported Vlasics, I decided against it. The dills I saw were $7.20 for 720 ml whereas my tubs are 1.1 litre (1,100 ml) or 34.54% bigger and 16.66 % cheaper. to be fair I quoted Lexus a slightly higher price when they first came out but adjusted it for quicker sales. Only 4 tubs left out of more than 20 and by looking at the state of my rooftop dill plants, will not have any more for at least a month.
Just a reminder, grade A (and to be honest it is not always grade A) Italian basil ready in 3 days.
Well we don't know the exact pickles to liquid ratio in their jar vs yours either...
Can you do anything with the dill after you eat the pickles?

You can cut up some cucumbers and pickle them....a watered down version of course.... If you saved up all the dill from say 3 containers and added cucumbers you might get full strength dills
So if you order 3 tubs, save up the dill, add a few cucumbers.... Presto..... Almost the same as buy 3 tubs get 1 free!

Hey Patcan. I'll take another bucket now if you are not going to have more ready for a month. What happened to your dill plants ?
All gone.....Too late....The dill plants grew great on the balcony....Lots of rain and cooler temperatures...The next batch of dill came out and I put it on the balcony again but the rains stppedand it got bloody hot...Too hot for the dill...Lost about 20 plants... Moved the lot to the roof...cool breeze and less intense sun.....Perfect now...Still learning the ropes with dill.

Bummer about the plants. Put me down for two buckets from the next batch of pickles whenever they come up then. Hopefully the plants fare well this time around.
Dill pickle update:
The rooftop and balcony dill is coming along nicely.
Presently have 5 tubs in stock ready for consumption around 10-12 January.
Monthly target is 50 tubs. Thanks for your previous purchases and I hope my future pickles will meet and surpass your high expectations.
Best Regards, Patrick's Pickles.
