Language Corps: what do you think?
Do not even think about doing any sort of CELTA or TESOL cert in Cambodia! They are not real and will waste your money. I hold the highest degree possible in the TESOL world, so please believe me when I say that what I have seen and spoken to people about these awful places makes me shudder. I've even spoke to "teachers" of these places and they do not even know the difference between TEFL and TESOL nor any theories which should be taught in any respectable program.

ACE in Siem Reap offer the CELTA, and I don't see how this could be a waste of money. Well, in comparison to doing a CELTA in any country that is. ACE are accredited by NEAS, so they're held to the same standard as any English Language School in Australia. And CELTA is, supposedly, accredited by Cambridge, so it should be relatively standardised across the board.

LanguageCorp is defunct after the ?owner? ?one of the business partners? had a motorcycle accident a year or so ago. There was a thread about it.
He owes a couple of his longstanding khmer staff a couple of grand each but his head injuries from the accident have left him incapable of earning a living.

They're real enough to secure you a job and that's kind of the point of it all, isn't it?kikiquery wrote:Do not even think about doing any sort of CELTA or TESOL cert in Cambodia! They are not real and will waste your money.
